Types of popular weight loss diets

There are so many different types of weight loss diets that we all have to choose from these days. Which one works best? Everyone has his or her own testimony. What works for one person may not necessarily work for you. However, how do you test to make sure that you are choosing the right one? It is weighing game - no pun intended. You have to look at the most healthy way to lose weight.

Anne Collins Diet - teaches how to forget about being afraid of food and that the best way to lose weight is to make friends with food. Losing weight the right way is to eat smaller portions during the day and eat healthy foods. Easy weight loss is not diet foods, but ordinary foods that can be eaten by everyone in the family.

The 3 or 4 Day Diet - teaches you to drink a lot of water and eat about 600 calories a day that will help you to lose up to 10 pounds.

5 Day Miracle Diet - teaches you to eat within thirty minutes of waking up, unless exercising, stretch to forty-five minutes. 7 Day Diet - Monday: eat all the fruit and vegetables you want, but no bananas. Tuesday: eat all the veggies you want. Wednesday: eat all the fruit and veggies you want. Thursday: 5 bananas, 5 glasses of milk. Friday: 4-3oz steaks of beef or chicken with fresh veggies. Saturday: 4-3oz beef steaks with veggies. Sunday: 4-3oz beef steaks with veggies. Claim: Lose up to 14 pounds.

16 Point Macerat Weight-Loss Plan - The plan includes two bottles said to contain extracts totaling about 20 herbs. Various numbers of drops are to be taken several times a day. There was no evidence given to prove that there were any effective ingredients for weight control. Some users reported diarrhea and increased urination after using the drops.

Beverly Hills Diet - A book authored by Judy Mazel and Michael Wyatt. The authors suggest that by eating proteins, carbohydrates, and fats all at the same time you "confuse your enzymes" causing your food not to digest properly. Their diet emphasizes eating less fat and much more fruit.

Cabbage Soup Diet - is based on a fat-burning soup that contains negligible calories. The more soup you eat the more weight you should lose. A caution is that one should not eat just the soup malnutrition will set in.

Diet Teas - These are often made with the herbal laxative Senna and it stimulates the colon, leading to fat excretion. This type of weight loss is due to mostly water loss. It can result in extreme diarrhea, nausea, and dehydration. These teas can be addictive and works only temporarily.

Diet Pills: They work by forming a gel around the stomach, which means it traps the fat before it gets to the intestine. The media has disapproved of them because of the misleading information given about weight loss.

Diuretics: Intended to shift water quickly through the body, diuretics are often prescribed for heart patients because they reduce blood pressure. Diuretic abuse is another method of purging. May cause temporary weight loss by causing the body to shed water. However, as soon as the body is back to its normal state, the weight returns. Meaningful weight loss requires loss of body fat.

Dr. Atkins Diet - Introduced by Dr. Robert C. Atkins. Teachings are to eat as much fat and protein as you like as long as you eat very little carbohydrates. A high fat, low carbohydrate (low carb) diet causes a condition called Ketosis that is increased production of blood ketones, which suppresses hunger. Carbohydrates feed fat in your body. You never go hungry, nor deprive yourself. Exercise is not emphasized on the Atkins Diet.

Jenny Craig - A commercial diet modeling Weight Watchers and Diet Workshop. Is a reduced calorie diet that focuses on balanced nutrition (60 % carbs/ 20% fat/ 20% protein) that follows the Food Guide Pyramid.

Slim Fast - The Ultra Slim Fast plan is drink two liquid meal replacements and eat a "Sensible" dinner. This can force your body into a starvation mode in which the body uses up the calories at a slower rate than normal. The plan is not long term and sustainable.

Evaluate your weight loss goals for yourself and make the choice that suits your body type and your health.

With the unhealthy fascination of looking young, the world of cosmetic surgery has gone into serious overdrive over the past couple of years. The latest crazes come out and there are people who rush out to have whatever new techniques are currently advertised.

Whilst surgery may not always be the answer, some people are still adamant that it will change their lives forever, and many people are now opting to change their whole face, in order to become happy with their appearance.

Are you on of the people considering having any type of facial surgery done? Do you hate your nose so much that you wish you had a brand new one, one that does not bump in the middle? Are you worried that people are looking at your eye brows? Do you feel that your face looks too old and needs a bit of a facelift? All these factors come into the equation when thinking about cosmetic surgery.

Some people hate the way they look so much that they have so much surgery done that they end up looking nothing like themselves. Sometimes the obsession really can go too far. When you start messing around with facial features, things can really start to go wrong, even if you do not realize it.

For instance, if you have an eye brow lift it can generally end up looking quite good and fairly natural. However, if you then choose to go on and have botox, followed by collagen inserted into the lips, and other cosmetic facial surgery, it can start to make your face look seriously too tight and you can end up looking ridiculous rather than better.

What Facial Surgery Involves

So what is involved with some facial surgery then? Each procedure will obviously be different and each will have different results. Here are a few different types of facial surgery that can be performed: Nose re-shaping Ear pinning Eyelid reduction Facelift Brow lift Chin implant Cheek implants

These can be very painful procedures to undertake, and some are quite tricky procedures too. For example, if you have your nose reshaped, you will usually experience bruising and swelling around your eyes for a few weeks. The operation will be performed under a general anesthetic and you will usually need to stay in hospital overnight.

Another procedure that can be achieved through surgery is cheek implants. This will help to give the cheekbones more shape for people who feel that their cheekbones are too flat or out of proportion.

With this procedure, the surgery will be performed under a local or general anesthetic and you should be able to return home later the same day. The drawback to this operation however is if you need a bone graft, it will often leave a scar from where it has been removed from.

The price of cosmetic surgery can be a really extremely expensive thing to do. If you do decide to have any of this type surgery done, you should always take the time to find a reliable doctor or surgeon to undertake the procedure. By using an unknown surgeon, you could be losing more than a lot of money, so always be careful and do not risk your health by choosing a dodgy surgeon.

Overall there are so many different things that can go wrong with cosmetic surgery that you really should be one hundred percent certain before you agree to have it done. It is also essential that you are having the procedure done for you and you alone.

Also, be prepared for the possibility that the surgery may not change your life for the better. It is not uncommon for people to feel depressed straight after the surgery due to the pain and the bruising. So, as long as you know what to expect, you should be fully prepared.

Male Plastic Surgery - The Lowdown

While it is no longer unusual for men to go under the knife in pursuit of cosmetic enhancement, we still tend to think of plastic surgery as the domain, primarily, of women.
Today however the demand for male plastic surgery is growing enormously and you may be curious as to which procedures all these image-aware men are queuing up for.
First of all, let's look at why male plastic surgery is different to female.

One of the reasons is that men age differently to women. Secondly, according to experts men have a lower pain threshold than women. Third, studies have shown that there is also a greater chance, with certain procedures (e.g. facelifts). of complications in men than in women patients. Finally, men still may experience greater embarrassment about their decision to undergo cosmetic surgery and prefer to keep it a private matter. Long periods of recovery are not an option for them.

It makes sense, therefore, that many surgeons prefer to offer simpler, more straightforward surgical enhancement procedures to men.
So what are the most fashionable male plastic surgery procedures today?

Liposuction

The most popular sites for male liposuction are the love handles, the tummy (known in South Africa as the 'beer boep') and the chest. Rather than a weight loss solution, liposuction is a sculpting technique that should be used in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise
Correction of saggy eyelids:

The upper lids can be quickly and safely lifted, with excess fat and skin easily removed. This procedure is performed under local anaesthetic. The patient checks out on the same day and the results are usually extremely good. There is some bruising for a few days but scarring is minimal.

Lower lids can also be treated but this is a much trickier procedure and therefore less popular among men.

Neck Surgery:

An Anterior Cervicoplasty is a simple, two-step procedure performed as a day case with sedation and local anaesthetic. First the neck is liopsucked via tiny cuts below the ear which leave almost no scarring. Next any loose 'turkey neck' skin is removed. This second step can result in a small but 'acceptable' scar near the Adam's apple.

Male Facelift

Many surgeons prefer to do a conservative facelift on their male patients, as the usual techniques can result in somewhat effeminate results and certain other undesirable outcomes. A male facelift will typically focus on the cheek skin and jowls.

Hair transplants

Male-pattern hair loss can today be effectively treated by hair transplants. Modern techniques result in far more natural-looking results than in previous years.

Botox

This popular non-surgical treatment course can quickly and easily rectify or diminish wrinkles, crow's feet and frown lines. Repeat sessions are required as this is not a permanent solution.
Apart from these procedures, which generally aim to counter the effects of aging on the male body, many body-conscious younger men are also signing up for pectoral, calf, bicep and tricep implants to enhance and address areas which they find not responsive to gym workouts.
With the rise of the Metrosexual, modern men of all ages want to look good, and this is clearly reflected in the upswing in numbers of male plastic surgery candidates.

Tips And Tricks On How To Lose Weight Correctly

Women, to put it bluntly, are biologically different from men. Those differences imply some guidelines for diet, exercise and health matters in general. Women, for example, naturally have a higher percentage of body fat than men, 27% on average compared to 15% for a fit individual. That single number alone is helpful information if one of your weight loss or exercise goals is fat reduction.

Any woman trying to reduce her percentage should take into account this natural difference, since it can help avoid guilt and provide a realistic goal.
Women experience hormonal changes that differ considerably from that of men as they age. Even young women can have irregularities in menstrual cycle and other physiological changes as a result.

This can be seen more clearly by looking at some extreme cases, for example.
Women in concentration camps in WWII frequently discontinued having regular menstrual cycles, as a result of the effects of starvation.

Highly trained female athletes also often experience similar changes, as a result of ultra-low body fat and other causes.

The ill effects of PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome) can be reduced by stabilizing blood sugar levels, regulating fat intake and other dietary changes.

For example, mood swings can be smoothed out to a degree by higher amounts of soluble fiber, which helps produce a slower rise in blood sugar. Apples, oats and beans are good sources.
Combining fat with protein and carbohydrate intake in a balanced way will help slow the rise in blood sugar from the carbohydrate consumption.

Ice cream may be a comfort food but the effect is short-lived and doesn't provide the balance needed. Instead, increase consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables. Bananas are a good choice, along with walnuts.

Women are more prone to arthritis, fibromyalgia and other conditions. Certain previously unsuspected food allergies can worsen the symptoms.

Testing is essential, but at the same time a healthy diet will help. Rice beverages can be substituted for those sensitive to cows milk, there are wheat-free breads on the market that are still whole grain and peanuts may need to be avoided for some.

For example some women who suffer from rheumatic symptoms will find they are allergic to wheat. A gluten-free diet will help lessen that problem.
This includes finding substitutes for ordinary cereal, standard bread, pasta and other foods made from wheat flour.

During the years of menopause, as cycles become less regular and l
arge hormonal changes are occurring, diet can help lessen the severity of any discomfort. Lowering sodium intake is helpful.

Substitutes include herbs, garlic or lemon juice for flavoring. Each individual is different, though, and you should consult a physician for proper amounts.
Menopausal women are likely to benefit from reducing saturated fats, beyond that of younger women or males. Since estrogen levels are declining,

HDL cholesterol (the beneficial type) will tend to fall and LDL cholesterol (the potentially harmful type) will rise.

One result is that, though men in general have a higher risk of heart attack as they age, during this time a woman's risk is equal to those of men of similar age. Reducing saturated and trans fat can help reduce those risks.

Moderate wine consumption is beneficial. It provides anti-oxidants and other helpful compounds and is generally lower in calories than many alternatives. Lowering caffeine can help reduce loss of calcium, which is more needed as women age.

What constitutes a proper diet varies somewhat by gender and age, so investigate what is right for your particular circumstances. Knowledge is the key to health.

The Only Resolution You Must Make to Lose Weight

If one of your goals for 2007 was to lose weight then you are probably either really excited to get started or are already starting to get apathetic about it. Either way, if you've tried losing weight in the past and failed then you probably cannot even imagine staying with a successful weight loss program for an entire year with that same enthusiasm that you felt as the ball dropped and the big number lit up marking the beginning of a new year. However, I am going to direct your attention toward the only New Year's resolution you must make and must keep, which is going to help you each and every day through your weight loss journey. That resolution is to TAKE ACTION NOW!

The biggest thing that keeps people from achieving their goals is procrastination. People always want a quick fix. And when their goals are to achieve something that is going to take time, they always look at all the work they have ahead of them and become overwhelmed. Then they say that it can always wait one more day or one more week. People are always looking for the time to be "just right". They wait for that morning when they will wake up and be all pumped up to get started. They wait for that morning when they actually look forward to getting to the gym and working out like an animal. They wait until something just clicks inside of them and pushes them to get started. Does that sound like you? Is that what you are waiting for? Are you waiting for that perfect time or for something to click? Well then, here, CLICK!

DO NOT WAIT ANYMORE! Do something right now. That's right, right now! And reading this article does not count. When is your next meal going to be? What are you planning on eating? Is it healthy? Is it loaded with sugar and fat and calories? Have you had a glass of water lately? Did you work out today? Is there still time to go to the gym? Don't lie now; really is there still time to workout? Of course there is! If the gym is closed then go do some pushups and jumping jacks and crunches or run up and down your stairs a few times. Whatever you do, I don't care. Just do something now! Then, when you've done something, come back to this article and continue reading, but go do something now first that is going to help you with that fat loss goal.

* * *
To those of you who listened to me, congratulations you are on your way. And that really wasn't hard at all; it just takes a little initiative to get going. To those of you who didn't listen, go look at yourself in the mirror. Look up and down and tell yourself whether or not you are happy with the way you look and feel. Are you happy with what you accomplished in terms of weight loss or fat loss or whatever your goals were in 2006? Be honest. Then, look yourself in the eye and explain to yourself why you can't take action now. Really listen to your excuse and decide if it makes sense or not. Then think if there is a way around it. Believe me, if you can find a million ways around working out then you can find one way around a little excuse.

OK, let me get back to those of you who took action already. Start thinking about what is next. What can you do for the rest of the day? What will you do tomorrow? What will you do for the rest of the week? Now keep thinking and write down your plans. When are you going to workout? Is that enough? What are you going to eat? Is that good for you? Don't know the best way to work out or eat? Then maybe you need to read a book. Or better yet, maybe you should finally hire that personal trainer that you've been wanting but have kept making excuses justifying to yourself why you shouldn't spend the money to get what you really desire. But now is the time to take action and put the excuses to rest.

The greatest thing about having a New Year's resolution of taking action toward achieving your goals now is that now is always with us. Think about that for a minute. You can never escape this resolution or put it off because the time is always now! Write down your goals on a sheet of paper and put it somewhere you will see it often. Now take a small piece of paper or a card (perhaps the back of a business card) and right on it: "TAKE ACTION NOW!" Put it in your pocket or your wallet and keep it with you. Better yet, keep that and your goals sheet or a copy of your goals sheet with you. Make it a point to look at the card every couple hours and always be ready to take action now! Do this and you will always be moving in the right direction toward achieving your goals.

How To Get Rid Of Stomach Fat -Love Handles

How To Get Rid Of Stomach Fat

The major reasons for weight gain and obesity are: * overeating * unbalanced eating * bad eating habits * hypo dynamics * metabolism violations * genetic predisposition
To lose weight safely, your Stomach Fat and maintain the achieved results, the following factors should be taken into account:

1. Be patient. It takes many years to gain weight. It also takes many years for the eating habits to be formed, so you need to be patient: you will need several months to achieve your goal of losing weight and maintaining the results.

2. Changing eating habits. Customers often cherish an idea of "attacking the extra weight". Such attacks usually start on Monday and are over by Friday and have nothing in common with such deep processes as changing the eating habits and metabolism. To change eating habits you need to strictly follow the weight loss program for a period of between 90 and 120 days. During this period you "work" together with your consultant; this is the key to your success.

Lose weight and eat fresh. The 3 Hour Diet at Home.

3. The consultant's help. The majority of people willing to lose weight and keep the results, require the help of a specialist or consultant. Lack of such support results in their quitting the diet.

4. The length of the weight loss period. Optimal average monthly weight loss is 3-5 kg (7-11 lbs). If you have 30 kg (66 lbs) of extra weight, you will have to use the weight loss program for at least 6 months.

5. The length of the weight maintenance period. After you have lost weight, you need to learn how to control it. To do this, you have to use the weight maintenance program for another 6 months without getting back to your old eating habits. Weigh yourself weekly and be in touch with your consultant. The weight maintenance program will allow your body to "forget" its old weight and "remember" the new weight and the new eating habits.

6. The success formula. To lose all the extra weight successfully and keep the results, you need to be patient and use the following formula:

Excess weight divided by 5 kilos (11 lbs) a month = the number of months required to follow the weight loss program.

The same period of time is necessary for keeping your results, by using the weight management program Example: you have 20 kilos (44 lbs) of extra weight. You need an average of four months to lose your extra weight and another 4 months to maintain your results.

These recommendations will assist you in losing extra weight,in Getting Rid Of Stomach Fat, in changing your eating habits, in learning how to control your weight and in the ability to feel great and never gain weight again.

Why Exercise Is Essential For Weight Loss

Despite the obvious rant of people with regards to trimming down to their ideal weight levels, it cannot be discounted that the aid of supplements and various means of reducing their weight in the easiest possible way has been the obvious resort today. While such resorts may be found to be helpful, it is obvious that the best way to cut down on weight still lies in the natural means of exercise as needed by the body.

Time and Investment in Exercise But if there is one thing that people consider to be an issue is that of the time they must invest in allocating for gyms and fitness centers. Obviously, most of the people who desire to trim down their proportionate body levels do not have this luxury since they find themselves trying to earn a living and survive today as well.

However, as they say, if a person is truly inclined to accomplish his desired weight level as they deem necessary for a healthier live and comfortable lifestyle, a person will find ways on making time for it. Walking, simple calisthenics and calorie burning activities paired with the proper diet will always be the best way to achieve proper weight loss and overall body fitness.

The Psychological Side of Exercises A lot of people would call it a psychological defect when it comes to being able to perform all these itineraries as they would want them to be. The easiest way is to resort to known drugs and pills for assistance in lieu of proper exercise. But these drugs will have their side effects and they may prove to be costly at any given time. Worse, such side effects may endanger the overall health as well, making it a double whammy of sorts since not only is the area of proper weight loss covered, but also that of needing to worry about serious health constraints to which the drugs have obviously caused.

Doing the Actual Exercise Exercise burns the fats and digested food as needed. For its part, it is the best way to be able to cover the building fat levels which are contributors towards obvious weight gain and building bigger bellies for people who do not follow a regular exercise to stimulate the metabolic parts of the human body. That is why simple exercises that can be done in the morning such as walking, jogging or even basic exercises to work out a sweat will go a long way rather than not having any form of calorie burning activity for their body.

Burning the Excess Calories The amount of burned fatty levels would depend on the religious aspect of taking up exercise. Paired with a good diet, food intake control is essential to making weight loss happen. Time may be a reason for a person not to be able to do the necessary exercise for such, but people also have to know that this health aspect of their bodies is something that goes way beyond the bodily figure but also their internal organs that may be dominated by fat that is known to store harmful toxins as well. Men and women alike need to understand that health is more than just taking medicine and pills. It is about burning and doing away with the unwanted toxins that a body will gather from food and environmental surroundings.

Watching the Weighing Scale The choice on the selection of the proper exercise to undertake would depend on the extent of weight consciousness that a person would want to achieve. It can range from a stressful to a manageable form of exercise, also depending on their level of tolerance and ability to cope up with it. A person must also be aware that he can only take so much strain in his body since there are other body organs and systems for consideration.
Considering a Sport for Exercise Sports are another good form of being in shape. Working up a sweat in the field of basketball, football or even baseball will go a long way the next time a person would check his weight on the weighing scale. But the chosen measure of exercise should be done religiously. A person cannot afford to be aggressive in the first month and forget about it in another. Taking up in the manner it is supposed to be should be the best way to approach it. Burning calories is not easy and losing focus on a regular workout program will only add to his or her burden.

Carbohydrates Are Not The Key To Weight Loss

Carbohydrates are the body's major source of energy which enables the many body organs to function properly. Carbohydrates taken in by the body is broken down into glucose which provides the much needed energy of the human body. With the glucose that was produced as the human body consumes carbohydrate-rich foods, the pancreas secretes an important hormone called insulin which transfers the glucose from the blood to the different cells of the human body. That in a nutshell explains how important carbohydrates are and why everyone should not totally eliminate the intake of carbohydrates through their diet plans.

To explain why carbohydrates is not the key to weight loss, it is important to know the two different types of carbohydrates contained in the food that people eat. One is the carbohydrates in its simplest raw form of sugars found in fruits and vegetables and the other one is complex carbohydrates which are found in cereals and potatoes. Both of these forms of carbohydrates have good and beneficial effect on the body because they produce energy which is badly needed by the body to function properly. However, not all foods are good supplier of carbohydrates whether simple sugar or complex carbohydrates. Sugar sources of carbohydrates found in fruits and vegetables are good carbohydrates because they these sugars are unrefined and come in their simplest natural form. And aside from this fruits and vegetables also contains phyto-chemicals which make it a good source of nutritional needs. Complex carbohydrates are also good for the body if they are taken in by eating fiber-rich carbohydrate heavy foods such as cereals, whole wheat bread and whole grains. Aside from giving the body good supply of sugar to produce energy, these foods are easily digested and are not stored in the body as fat. The bad carbohydrates rich food that should be avoided are those that come from foods made of refined sugar such as cookies, cakes, carbonated drinks and others because of the high sugar concentration in these foods which are hard to digest and most often than not remain in the body as stored fat.

Going to the question of whether carbohydrates are the key to weight loss, the answer is either a yes or no. Like any other food, anything that is taken in excess of how much the body needs is always a bad thing. The same thing is true for carbohydrates, whether it is simple or complex, good or bad carbohydrates; the important thing to remember is that, both affects weight gain, if not taken moderately. It should always be remembered that any amount of carbohydrates taken in by the body which is not consumed and converted into energy will remain in the body as stored fat, which would contribute to weight gain.

So, is a low-carb high-protein diet the best way to lose weight? The answer is still either yes or no. It would still depend on what type of protein is taken in as part of the diet. Protein like carbohydrates also contributes to weight gain if not taken at the right proportion and not consumed by the body properly. But this is not saying that low-carb high protein diet has no effect on weight loss, actually it has an effect on weight loss. However, Too much of protein and less of energy producing carbohydrates may not be good to one's over all health. The body needs energy from carbohydrates and the nutrients from protein rich food to build up muscles and for other sustenance.

Carbohydrates intake may lead to weight loss, it is a proven fact. But to say that it is the key to weight loss is not true. Depriving the body of the much needed energy from carbohydrates may lead to weight loss, but the effect on the over all health of the body must also be considered. The best way to achieve weight loss is by attaining weigh loss objective without sacrificing total body health. To do this, the key is still moderation in the intake of the essential nutrients whether they are carbohydrates, protein among other things. And of course, ensure that these nutrients are properly utilized by the body through maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.

Is Eating Breakfast Worthwhile?

10 reasons breakfast is a MUST

Is it an old wives' tale, or is breakfast really the most important meal of the day? Perhaps your mother always made you eat hot lumpy cereal in the morning, so as soon as you escaped her clutches, you developed the coffee and cigarette habit in college, and ever since then breakfast was a bagel... at lunchtime.

You've realised your adolescence ended (about 10 years ago!) and now it's time for a change. You've stopped that smoking thing... it was smelly and made your teeth yellow anyway. But your trousers are too tight, you can't climb a set of stairs without huffing and puffing and you feel much older than your years.

Back to breakfast... yes it's true, breakfast can make or break a diet, because breakfast helps set the tone for the rest of the day. If you're one of those people who think skipping breakfast is a good way to lose weight... think again. Here are the top reasons why you should definitely eat breakfast, every day:

1. Break the fast. Ever think of what "breakfast" means? Your body responds to not eating for hours and hours by slowing down its metabolic rate. By eating breakfast, you wake up your metabolism and get your engine humming, burning those calories you need to burn to lose weight.

2. Eat more, weigh less. Researchers have repeatedly shown that people who eat breakfast have a better chance of losing weight, and keeping it off. When you skip meals, you're so hungry by lunchtime you eat the entire cow! Research carried out at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh has shown that eating breakfast cereal in the morning helps aid weight loss.

3. Are you interested in doing better at work and school? Don't be a bed head... breakfast helps wake you up. Studies show that people who eat breakfast are more alert and do better on tests than people who skip breakfast. Conversely, a hungry child can be apathetic, disinterested, and irritable when confronted with difficult tasks. Breakfast is the key." No doubt adults need breakfast as much as kids do.

4. Breakfast is your chance to eat the foods you may not eat the rest of the day. You can have whole-grain cereal and berries with non-fat milk - here is your fibre, folic acid and calcium in one easy-to-grab bowl. Low-carbers need to go very easy on grains, so opt for the highest-fibre brand you can find. However, why not indulge instead in the typical eggs and bacon breakfast most other eating plans frown upon?

5. Skipping breakfast makes you grouchy. Studies show that people who eat breakfast tend to be in better moods (when I'm hungry - watch out!). Breakfast gets you started on the right track for the day. If you start out with a healthy breakfast, then you set the mood for lunch. You're more likely to choose something reasonable for lunch if you've paid some attention to your breakfast choices.

6. Cancel the Danish or sugared donut first thing in the morning - they cause a blood sugar dip a couple of hours later. You'll be desperate for something to perk you up, and are more likely to grab another high-sugar refined carb, for a quick sugar rush.

7. Breakfast makes your machine run better. Get yourself on a schedule with a healthy breakfast, and you're ready to take on the world.

8. If you're a parent, set a good example. By skipping breakfast, your kids will think it's not important. Breakfast doesn't have to be a big affair, but don't wimp out... make it a habit, and your kids will be way ahead of the game too.

9. Don't eat dessert for breakfast. If you think a cereal bar with 30 grams of sugar is a breakfast item, then think again. Some cereal bars contain nearly as much sugar and fat as a regular chocolate bar.

10. One more word about labels... if it says, "Nutritious," it doesn't necessarily mean it's healthy. Cereal manufacturers are experts in marketing, using words that send a message of health, but unless you read the labels, eat at your own risk. Kids' cereals often have more sugar than sweets. Protect your kids from getting hooked on these cereals... they'll get used to all the sugar, and will want only pre-sweetened cereals.

Whatever your diet you follow... breakfast is one meal you don't want to miss. One other thing you don't want to miss is MySecretSound.com - win $5000 by guessing a mystery secret sound online! Free to listen! www.MySecretSound.com

Acne Treatments - Understanding Acne Scars To Treat Them

This acne scar is not an ordinary scar. It has a "S" & "Car" in it. Firstly you have to see what "model" is your sCAR. The cost of treatment for certain types of scars is very costly. Therefore, before committing to treatment of acne scars, you should have a frank discussion with your dermatologist, in all the aspects. As, terminating the scar treatment at an incomplete stage, may be counter-productive for you. Acne scars are treated in several stages based on the type of scar. They are like the episodes of a TV serial. Some stage of the story is covered in every episode, and a deliberate suspense is created at the ending. Here, the dermatologist may not deliberately try to keep you in suspense, but after completion of every stage, it is natural for you to have your quota of suspense, "Will this scar fully heal?"

There is no doubt that innovative skin care technology for acne, bums, surgery and piercing has arrived. The dermatologist will give you tens of reasons to get beautiful, getting rid of scars. He has documents of many success stories. You arrived at his clinic with scar-removal temptation, and your temptation is now confirmed. He has explained to you doubt-proof methods to reduce and eliminate acne scars.

Acne scars can affect anyone. After the healing process, the skin is left with a discoloration that may take months to heal. 6 to 18 months is the normal estimate. If the scar still persists, and is in no mood to go, then surgical methods are the only alternative.

Since the scars are visible, they cause embarrassment. There is nothing to worry about the macules of "pseduo-scars". When it eventually disappears in the natural processing of healing, it leaves no trace. Post-inflammatory pigmentation is discoloration of the skin at the site of a healed acne lesion, which may last up to 18 months. Chemical peeling is likely to hasten the disappearance of post-inflammatory healing process.

It is better to bear the scars if they are not in the visible part of the body. It is difficult to predict how successfully scars can be treated. For, the healing duration differs from case to case. Acne scars are generally categorized in two types: (a) scars caused by increased tissue formation and (b) scars caused by the loss of tissue. The decision to seek surgical treatment is an important one. The type of treatment has to suit you best. The experience and expertise of the dermatologist come to play an important part here. He may fail sometimes, at your cost, despite of his best efforts. You have to make your personal decision whether to live in the company of your scar/s,unless it is a psychological burden for you.

Scar treatment usually improves the appearance of the skin. But if your expectation is total restoration, it is an impossibility. The main aim of any acne scar treatment is basically to provide you a totally acceptable look. To have a complete restoration of your previous look is far than a possibility.

So, ultimately, it is the same old story East or West, dermatologist is the best! Go by his advice and stick to your decision, a firm decision indeed!

Fixing your health to fix your acne

Many people in the world suffer from acne to one degree or another. Some are affected severely and others get away with a spec here and there. But why is it that with all of the different face washes and masks on the market, so many people still suffer from acne? The reason is simple. People try to treat the superficial signs of acne without addressing its underlying cause.

This article is going to reveal three powerful methods that if employed will clear up even the worst acne out there. Everyone knows that face washing is very important, but alone is often not enough. If you truly want to cure your acne, continue washing your face with a quality facial cleanser but also use the tactics described in this article. Here is what to do:

Detox the body, especially the colon. Many cases of severe acne are the direct result of excessive toxins built up within the colon. These toxins leach into the whole body, bringing about acne and disease. Your first order of business should be to completely cleanse and purify your colon. This action will help remove toxins from the entire body and stop the cycle of toxin-based acne.

The best way to cleanse the colon is to go on a juice fast and do an enema each day of the fast. This quickly removes huge amounts of toxins from your body and allows your skin to start the recovery process. This is a powerful way to deal with skin problems, as well as full on disease. Removing toxins is critical for good-looking, clear skin. Many enema recipes are available online.
Clay masks. High quality clay applied as a mask will pull toxins from deep within the pores of the skin. This will do much to combat the formation of new acne and will help to dry old acne much quicker. Be sure to buy quality clay and mix it with water into a creamy paste. Rub a large amount of the paste onto your face or other affected areas. The thicker the layer of clay the better. Let this sit on your face until it is completely dry. Rinse your face well.
Omega oils. Omega oils, especially omega-3s have great acne fighting power. Here is how it works. Omega oils regulate the amount of androgen hormones in your system. This minimizes the effects of excessive amounts of pore clogging sebum. Omega oils work wonders for other skin conditions, as well as acne. My favorite way to get omega fats is by eating ground flax seeds. Two tablespoons of fresh ground flax a day will really help with acne. If grinding seeds is too much for you try taking flax oil.
Drink more pure water. The amount of water you drink each day is a huge factor in curing acne and overall health. Water literally flushes toxins and other harmful substances out of your whole body. This deeply cleanses and purifies your skin. Acne cannot thrive in skin that is regularly flushed with fresh water and kept clean. No other acne treatments will work properly without plenty of water intake. This is step is vital if you truly wish to cure yourself of acne.

The above remedies treat the root of all acne causes. This is the only way to get the results you truly desire. Begin all four of the above remedies and stick to it religiously for two weeks. You will then see the amazing transformation that is possible by going after the root cause of acne.

Other than these the other causes of blackheads are irregular eating habits and lack of proper sanitation and cleanliness, less amount of water in the body, excessive use of make-up and also sometimes side effects of some creams.

Family Fitness and Weight Loss

With the epidemic rise in obesity, especially in children, it is necessary to find enjoyable ways to keep ourselves and our children fit and healthy. Exercise and weight loss can be difficult alone but making it a family affair can make all the difference in the world.

Making exercise a family priority not only helps each family member to lose weight, it is a good way for families to connect and have fun together. The advantages to making exercise an important part of your family time together are many.

*The family spends more quality time together, thus strengthening family relationships.

*It is far easier to lose weight when you are doing it together.

*Children learn healthy habits and develop good physical skills and self-confidence early in life.

*Weight loss success will be much more likely and the whole family will be happier and healthier.

The hardest part of making exercise a family activity is getting started. Use some of the tips listed below:

*BE AVAILABLE. When your children want to play outside, go with them. Play tag, play sports, go swimming or bike riding with them or any other activity that they enjoy and you can share with them.

*NEVER REFER TO IT AS EXERCISE. Whatever activities you pursue together, never refer to it as exercise. Refer to it as playing or fun time.

*NEVER MAKE IT A CHORE. Keep it light and enjoyable.

*VARY YOUR ACTIVITIES. Give everyone a chance to pick what they want to do. Make sure you include activities that at least one person likes to do.

*GIVE GIFTS THAT PROMOTE PHYSICAL ACTIVITY. Give your children toys, games, and accessories that encourage activity such as bikes, skates, balls, and good tennis shoes.

*COMBINE EXERCISE WITH LEARNING. Plan walking or biking trips to the park, zoo, or museum. Keep your child's mind active by counting cars, trucks, fences, etc., on your trips.

*USE YOUR TIME WISELY. Use the time you have together to do more than just exercise. Get caught up on your child's life, friends, concerns, etc.

There are many opportunities and choices for families who want to participate in physical activities together. Whether your family unit is made up of young children, older children, one parent or two, there are plenty of fun and healthy things to do.

Below are just a few of the opportunities available. Use your imagination and get creative!

*Ice, inline or roller-skating

*Swimming

*Riding bikes

*Walking or hiking (trails, inside track, to the park, etc.)

*Sports (basketball, soccer, tennis, golf, football, badminton, volleyball, etc.)

*Family aerobics

*Hop-scotch, hide-and-seek, or skipping rope

*Martial arts

*Kite flying There is an old adage that says the family that plays together stays together. This has never been more true than it is in today's world of violence, drugs and a sometimes out-of-control society.

A family that exercises together loses weight together and is happier, healthier, and more inclined to continue the practice. Making exercise a family priority improves not only the physical health and well-being of everyone, but it is good for the spirit and enhances family bonding.

Fat-Burning Exercise: The Key to a Fitter and Healthier You

Being physically fit is the key to having a healthy body well into your senior years. You want to be up and about when you're 80, not confined to a bed or a wheelchair. And it doesn't take a miracle, either. All you have to do is practice a regular fitness routine and follow that up with a healthy diet. If you have a diet that is big on fast food coupled with little or no regular physical exercise, then you are definitely headed for trouble in your golden years. You might not even make it that long. Check out the national statistics for heart disease, and read the studies relating cardiovascular health to diet and fitness. So don't wait, get on your feet and do something about it.

It's a sure sign of poor fitness when you start seeing yourself get love handles. Not only is that bad for your health, it's rather unattractive and embarrassing to have fat bulging from the sides. They may be called love handles, but we can hardly say that we love having them. In fact, what we would dearly love is to get rid of them and have a lean and healthy figure. If that's your goal, then your fitness program should definitely be oriented towards fat-burning exercise.

What does that mean, exactly? Well, first of all purge your mind of those images of musclebound juggernauts pumping iron. Weight training is great for fitness, of course, but it is more effective for such goals as muscle increase and body shaping. But if your focus is on weight loss, then you should put more of your time and energy into fat-burning exercises, those that involve a good cardiovascular workout.

The good thing to note is that there is a great variety in cardio fitness exercises. To run down the list, we can mention aerobics, biking, swimming, running, squash, and badminton. We can go on, but you must get the idea. You can also get the right training by using an elliptical machine, a fitness treadmill, or a stationary bike. With all the options available to you, there is sure to be one form of training that you will like. It doesn't really matter what it is, as long as it becomes a regular part of your life's routine.

If you can afford it, I suggest you hire yourself a personal fitness trainer. Self-motivation will always be important, but it is even better if you have someone who can personally oversee your training and offer you encouragement when you need it. Another advantage of getting a personal trainer is having someone who can design a fitness program to fit your lifestyle. You are sure to burn fat off more quickly, and the cost to you would certainly be worth the result of gaining a more attractive figure and a longer and healthier life.

Exercise and Stress

It is no secret that people who exercise regularly feel better, more energetic, and less stressed. . There is plenty of evidence to show that exercise provides stress-relieving benefits. Essentially, there are four ways exercise controls stress.

Exercise can help you relax. Although the actual exercise bout might be strenuous and difficult to execute, actual benefits such as stress reduction, body toning etc. actually occur after the session is over. The immediate post-exercise period helps flush out carbon dioxide and waste products from the various systems. Following a session of exercise, clinicians have measured a decrease in electrical activity of tensed muscles. People feel less jittery and hyperactive after an exercise session.

Exercise can help raise your mood. A good and well-supervised exercise session helps you relax for the next 90 to 120 minutes. This is called post-exercise euphoria or endorphin response, and these 'feel good' chemicals improve your mood and leave you relaxed.

Exercise can make you feel better about yourself. Think about those times when you were physically active. Did you not better about yourself? That feeling of self-worth contributes to stress relief. Physical fitness is a buffer against stress and fit subjects experience less stress than unfit subjects.

Exercise can make you eat better. People who exercise regularly tend to eat more nutritious food and stick to healthy eating habits; this helps your body manage stress better.

To help you get started, here are three types of activities you can choose from. A combination of all 3 is ideal for best results.

1. Aerobic activity. All it takes is 20 minutes' worth, six to seven days a week. Twenty minutes won't carve a big chunk out of your day, but it will improve your ability to control stress significantly. These are good aerobic studios in almost every town. Look for information in local newspapers for spring specials and other discounts.

2. Yoga. In yoga or yoga-type activities, your mind relaxes progressively as your body increases its amount of muscular work. Recent studies have shown that when large muscle groups repeatedly contract and relax, the brain receives a signal to release specific neurotransmitters, which in turn make you feel relaxed and more alert.

3. Recreational sports. Play cricket, football tennis, or badminton on weekends. Cycling and swimming also work well. These games require the kind of vigorous activity that rids your body of stress-causing adrenaline and other hormones.

In addition to the above 'long term solutions', you can also try several techniques to 'calm down' when you feel overly stressed. The following 'short cut stress busters' should be very helpful.

If you are sitting in one position for a prolonged period of time, stand up from the desk and stretch your arms and legs at regular intervals. Shut your eyes and take 20 slow deep breaths.

Listen to soothing music.

Squeeze and release a towel or a rubber ball a few times.

Visualize yourself petting your children, sitting by the balcony watching the sunset, spending the weekend relaxing with family, walking on grass etc

Losing weight after the holidays and have fun!

So you are like me, and have put on some extra pounds during the holidays? It is real hard to not eat all the good meals your family makes you isn't it? Here's some quick info about losing weight after the holidays.

I keep wondering to myself, how can I lose this weight? How long will it take? It took me only 14 days to put it all on! I want it out!

Well, what I first came to realise, a realistic diet, that will help keep the weight off is not getting into one of those internet scams. I am going to need to be serious about this.

I also noticed, I am probably going to have to put some work into it. I know, I know... How BORING! Well, I soon came to find out, that what lacked in my dieting is the motivation!

So how do you get that motivation? Well, simple answer: you got to lose weight! It probably feels like I am jumping a step but listen carefully.

You probably, like I did, have the motivation to lose the weight already. So you are probably ready to work, just like everybody that gets a gym membership on the 3rd of January, but finish by leaving after a couple of months.

Well, keep a journal, or use different techniques, instead of the gym. Because I agree it is boring. Once you've lost some weight doing something you like you'll be motivated to continue.

For example I like badminton, so I started playing, it's not the gym, it's not some crazy diet. Just doing that 1 hour a week, I started to lose my holiday weight.

I gave me motivation to continue, and maybe do some other stuff... Now, I play hockey, golf, badminton and the occasionnal bowling, and I have a healthy weight.

To sum it all up, I think the key to all this is to go in babysteps. If you like ping-pong, it's not as physical as other stuff, but it beats laying down on the couch!

5 Healthy Eating and Exercise Tips

Combine your healthy eating program with simple exercise for the greatest effect on your longterm health. Try these 5 tips.

  1. Fitness is the ultimate key to longer life. In fact it's better to be fat and fit, than skinny and sedentary - but by far the best is to be slender AND well-toned. How to achieve it? Make sure your diet contains more fresh fruit and veg, wholegrain and low fat foods, and less processed and junk foods, and include simple exercise in your daily routine.

  2. Take just half an hour a day for fitness. If you sleep for eight hours, that still leaves 16 in a day...and yes, you can find just half of one of those to dedicate to a fitter you. Go for variety - one day a brisk walk, the next a cycle ride, then a badminton session, an aerobic class, or some weight-training at home.

  3. Be prepared for after-exercise hunger A strenuous exercise session can leave you feeling ravenous, but don't use it as an excuse to binge. Get a good, healthy snack ready before you start exercising, so there's no danger of heading for the cookie jar. Try a banana and a glass of skimmed milk, a bowl of hearty soup that just needs warming, a wholegrain roll with hummus, a pot of low fat yogurt with chopped fruit stirred in.

  4. Measure your waist. If your girth is more than 81cm/33 inches for women, 94cm/39 inches for men, then you're in danger of developing diabetes and heart disease. Start an exercise plan now, and make moves to reduce the amount of unhealthy foods you eat.

  5. Check your portion sizes. Over-generous portions are one of the main enemies of healthy eating. Don't trust to guesswork. Half a cup - 70g - of dried pasta is a healthy serving. Always measure. You'll be surprised how easy it is for portions to creep up.

Spread your exercise across the week, and always having a healthy snack afterwards. Make your new regime into a permanent part of your life. That way, you're far more likely to keep the healthy eating and exercise habit going into the future. Start now - and see how quickly you feel a difference!

Mom tricked my dad into losing weight

My mother is gifted with extraordinary culinary talents. We love her cooking as much as we love they way she takes good care of all of us.

This might have been the reason why my father has grown huge over the years, especially around the tummy.

Recently, I have observed that although my dad still eats voraciously, he is gradually losing that extra bulge. I asked my mom about it and she just smiled. Over a cup of coffee, she shared with me her secrets. I would like to share it with you , too.

Mom said that dad needs to lose weight as he is into his mid-life age wherein diseases like diabetes, arthritis, stroke, and cancer are lurking around the corner and ready to strike upon a person who is not diet conscious. So she made changes on his diet without him knowing it. She also encouraged my dad to join her in some physical activities on weekends.

Mom began using wholegrain in her baking instead of white bread. According to her, wholegrain bread contains more fiber which makes him full for a longer time. He cuts back on his calories.

Whenever my father takes her to dine at restaurants, mother said she eats all the pre-dinner rolls without my father noticing it. If she can't help it, she would request the waiter to exchange the butter with vinegar and olive oil.

Since my father is fond of bringing a sandwich to work, she prepares it without the bread. Dad loves lettuce so she makes this the sandwich base rather than bread. She fills it up with slices of tomato, cucumber (with the skin on), celery and mix it with slices of either apple, mango, or avocado or whatever is in season. When he requests for meat, my mom uses chicken meat without the skin. If dad insists on having bread, and sometimes he gets away with it, mother used wholegrain bread.

On weekends, mom would request dad to help her in the garden. She would pretend to be in pain in the arm, or back, so she could ask him to weed grass or dig soil or just plain relocations of flower pots, and even mowing. These sort of let him burn lots of calories and are good for emotional and physical health.

Oftentimes, my mom encourages my dad to play basketball with my youngest brother or badminton with my younger sister, or play tennis with me. All that and more, dad burns a lot of calories by playing the sports.

Engaging in physical sports or taking regular exercises and taking proper diets have enormously helped my dad to lose weight. He was able to manage the pressure and stress at work. According to mom, stress causes production of hormone cortisol which forms fats and round the belly and risk of heart disease. Exercise regulates the hormones that's why dad lose weight eventually, mom added.

Should my dad finds out that mom tricked her into losing weight, I am sure he would not be mad at her, but rather would love her even more.

Weight Loss By Dieting And Exercising

Millions of people are interested in losing weight. Some people if not most people look for a "quick fix" or a miracle weight loss products or weight loss supplement with little or no attempt in getting their diet in order or follow a weight loss program.

It is good to search for the diet that best suit your needs and lifestyle.

When you reduce the calorie intake it helps you in weight reduction. By reducing the calorie intake, your body will take corrective measure by tapping into other sources for its fuel, body fat the first.

In your last meal for the day avoid carps. Remember, when retiring to bed with lower blood sugar level, your body system increase its production of growth hormones, which help to increase the loss of fat by mildly increasing the metabolism.

When we think of exercise, most of the time we think of going for a jog or a run. Usually, most of the time this form of exercise is given up because it is boring. Have you considered playing games. This can be interesting and yet has it effects. Team games, like soccer, basketball, and volley ball and yet there are others like badminton, tennis, squash. Swimming and cycling can be also considered.

Make Fitness And Weight Loss Targets Part Of A Normal Lifestyle.

I sat down to write this article in many ways with other women in mind particularly. Now please don't get me wrong here, I am not a feminist, nor am I in any way setting out to discriminate against men, it is just that by their very nature, women tend to be more likely to go from one extreme to another.

There is nothing wrong with that in my view, it is part of their overall makeup. Women are governed by their hormones, making them more volatile in their emotions, decision making, lifestyle choices etc etc. There are so many aspects to a woman's life, and the day to day choices that she makes, that are totally influenced by the mood she happens to be in at that moment in time.

Men by contrast, are more likely to be pragmatic in their overall approach to things, and will probably be much more inclined to take a longer term view of their goals, and what they want to acheive in life.

I say all this simply to illustrate the fact that women especially, should not become obsessed with their latest diet program or exercise routine, especially if it is detrimental to other people in their lives.

How many times for example have you felt tired and totally stressed out from work, and by the time you get home, you cannot be bothered to play with your children. Even though they have been really pleased to see you, and wanted you to spend time playing with them, your normal response is likely to be to tell them that you will play with them in an hour or so, once you have had a chance to rest.

However, instead of disappointing your children, why not say,"yes" to them after all! You will most likely be very surprised by the amount of energy that you will have after that thirty minutes of activity.

I wonder if you realise that by exercising at a moderate pace for only thirty minutes, you will feel a lot better mentally, as well as physically! It has been shown that this activity improves the appetite, and sharpens your style in problem solving. As well as that, you will also find that it is much easier to sleep at night if you do moderate exercises, even if for only thirty minutes every day.

There are so many many benefits to you of regular exercise! It helps to promote self-discipline, and has a positive impact how you perceive life in general. If you feel good physically, you are much more likely to feel good about life in general. Exercise also helps in lifting your spirits and getting you out of any depression.

For those of you starting out for the first time, do remember that it is best to limit your exercise routine to 15 minutes a day for two to three days a week. You can increase the time you spend exercising, once your body has become accustomed to it.

Do not ever push yourself to excess, and if you do strain yourself, then stop immediately. Take a break from exercising for a few days if you do, and then start over again, but you do need to begin the process as if you were starting out again from day one.

Here are some suggestions for moderate exercises that you can do and enjoy.

Make use of your surroundings by walking as often as you possibly can. You can walk with your dog, with your partner, or better still, with your children. Encourage your family to walk daily, and you will find yourself burning up the calories. At the same time you will be enjoying the surroundings, and getting sunlight and fresh air which is also very good for your general good health.

Why not set out to discover the wonders of Yoga. Yoga is one of the more effective exercise programs, that energizes not only your body but also your soul. You may want to learn just the basic yoga positions that are not too complicated, but have proven to be effective. A five-minute yoga exercise can perk you up, and recharge your body with the energy you have lost during the whole day. With yoga you relax, and at the same time you stretch yourself.

Make a point of taking up different sports, time permitting. Play basketball, football, baseball, tennis or badminton. Most doctors have recommended sports as an effective way to stay fit and healthy, but unless you are super fit, or a trained athlete, sporting activities should be undertaken in moderation. Try and not take it too seriously.

To give you an example, just playing around shooting basketball with a friend, is a moderate exercise that is also considered as a sport. See if you can join any exercise programs taking place at your work, and if you still do not have any exercise programs at your work, then why not see if you can start one. Suggest this to your boss and start it up with your colleagues. This means that not only would you lose calories, it would also be one very good way of bonding with them.

You could do three sessions of thirty minutes a week for instance, possibly even during your lunch break.

Exercise while you are doing household chores, like gardening, raking leaves, lawn mowing, doing the laundry, vacuuming, washing the car etc etc. All of these are effective but moderate exercises that you can easily do at home. Instead of using machines and gadgets to perform these chores, why not do them with your hands, work up a sweat, and burn up some calories as well!

If you set out to make exercises like these part of your everyday daily routine, you will be surprised at how many calories you can actually lose. Would you believe for instance that moderate exercises of this amount done every day, can burn from 150 calories up to 1,000 calories per day!

I also happen to think that as I said at the beginning of this article, by taking a balanced and consistent approach as outlined above, you can achieve both your objectives as far as fitness and weight loss are concerned, and yet still maintain normality in your everyday life.

Lupus and the symptoms of nervous system involvement

Studies revealed that is possible for systemic lupus erythematosus to affect the nervous system. Patients with lupus may experience confusion, difficulty with concentrating, headaches, fatigue, strokes or other signs that show nervous system involvement.

Studies suggested that the nerve tissue may be damaged when antibodies attack nerve cells or blood vessels. It is known that the nervous system requires an uninterrupted flow of blood, that is needed to supply with oxygen and nutrients its tissues. When this flow of blood is slowed or interrupted, the nervous cells are unable to function normally, and there appear symptoms. The symptoms vary, depending where the tissue injury is situated. It is good to know that the nervous system contains three parts. The central nervous system comprises the brain and spinal cord, the peripheral nervous system nerve fibers that have the role to provide the skin and muscles the power needed for sensation and movement, and the third part is the autonomic nervous system that has the role to regulate spinal, peripheral nerves and to innervate the internal organs.

An inflammation of the blood vessels of the brain that appears to 10% of all lupus patients is called the central nervous system vasculitis. This disease usually requires hospitalization and high doses of corticosteroids. Some of the symptoms that appear are high fevers, seizures, psychosis and meningitis-like stiffness of the neck. If it is not aggressively managed, the central nervous system vasculitis rapidly progresses to stupor and coma.

People with mild to moderated systemic lupus erythematosus can experience the cognitive dysfunction. That is a group of symptoms that appear at about 50% of these patients, and we can mention here fatigue, memory impairment, feelings of confusion, and difficulty to express the thoughts. By taking a neuropsychological test or a test called the positron emission tomography, these symptoms can be clearly documented. It is known that cognitive dysfunction may come and go on its own, but no optimal therapy is available. Also, it is not known which is the reason for the symptoms that appear. Dealing with a cognitive dysfunction is frustrating, and often counseling a person in developing coping skills may be helpful.

About 20% of the patients having systemic lupus erythematosus experience the lupus headache. This manifests by severe headaches, is similar to migraine and can be often seen in persons who have also Raynaud's phenomenon. As a treatment, it is useful the same one used in tension headaches or migraine, and sometimes corticosteroids.

It is known that about a third of the patients having lupus can have a false positive syphilis test, a positive anticardiolipin antibody, or a prolonged clotting time test. This is known under the name of the lupus anticoagulant or the antiphospholipid antibody. About 1/9 of the patients having lupus will develop blood clots in various parts of the body, which is called the antiphospholipid syndrome. If blood clots appear in the nervous system, they can cause a stroke, and symptoms of a stroke include the painless onset of neurologic deficits without any signs of active lupus. If a stroke appears, there must be taken blood-thinning medications. We can mention here low-dose aspirin, coumadin or heparin.

Among patients having systemic lupus erythematosus there is a percentage of 20% that have fibromyalgia syndrome as well. These patients experience increased pain in the soft tissues, tender points, and, in addition cognitive dysfunction, decreased ability to concentrate, lack of stamina and difficulty sleeping. As a treatment, we can mention anti-depressants, counseling, and physical therapy if needed.

It was discovered that medications used to treat systemic lupus erythematosus can develop symptoms like those of the central nervous system lupus.Psychosis can appear due to anti-malarials in very high doses; headache, dizziness, and in rare situations meningitis-like symptoms can be provoked by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Also if a patient uses corticosteroids, there can appear moods swings, psychosis, depression, agitation, confusion, if there are taken high doses can appear seizures, and anti-hypertensive medications may be associated with depression or loss of libido.

A study discovered that people that have both lupus and Sjogren's syndrome may be predisposed to develop vasculitis or cognitive dysfunction. Sometimes, circulating proteins in the blood can lead to cryoglobulinemia or hyperviscosity syndrome.Plasmapheresis or filtering the blood can ease these complications.Sometimes, pronounced decreases in platelet counts may be associated with bleeding.People with thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura or who lack Protein S or Protein C may clot, and those with lupus, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura and kidney failure may bleed.

In peripheral nervous system lupus, involvement of the cranial nerves can cause visual disturbances, drooping of the eyelid(s), ringing in the ear(s), facial pain and dizziness.Symptoms of numbness or tingling in the arms or legs can appear if there is an inflammation of the blood vessels supplying the peripheral nerves. There can also appear symptoms due to other conditions than lupus and electromyogram and nerve conduction tests are usually helpful to determine if symptoms are due to some other cause. Corticosteroids are used to treat inflammation of the peripheral nerves.

It is important for your doctor to know if you experience nervous system symptoms. It is possible that these symptoms to appear due to lupus, due to a medication or a particular aspect of your life. The doctor will ask you about the symptoms you experience, he will perform a physical examination and a laboratory evaluation including a blood chemistry panel, complete blood count and urinalysis. Also, diagnostic tests like sedimentation rate, ANA, anti-DNA, anti-ribosomal P antibodies and complement may be useful in order to determine nervous system involvement. There are neurodiagnostic tests, that include CT and MRI brain scans, brain waves or electroencephalogram and spinal taps.In a few hospitals, there can also be performed PET scans. The spinal fluid may be examined for cells, protein components and antineuronal antibodies. In patients with cognitive dysfunction, neuropsychologic tests may be helpful.

The treatment for nervous system lupus depends upon its source, and can include immunosuppressants, blood thinners, antibiotics, steroids, anti-depressants, counseling or surgery. If there are evident diagnostic difficulties, a rheumatologist and/or neurologist should be involved in your care. It was seen that for many people with lupus, nervous system involvement is completely reversible.

Rosacea and the Problems it Can Cause

Not many people have heard of Rosacea, but it is an inflammatory skin condition which affects the face. It is thought that the condition affects up to 14 million Americans, yet some of them do not even realize what they have. So just exactly what is this condition that hardly anybody has heard of?

Rosacea and its Causes

Rosacea is similar in appearance to acne and so often sufferers get confused and assume they have acne rather than this condition. Depending upon how severe the problem is, the condition has often created many social problems for its sufferers as most are too embarrassed to even go out in public.

The actual cause of Rosacea is unknown and as of yet, there is no known cure for the condition either. The symptoms which often occur include:

Redness of the skin on the face, usually on the forehead, cheeks, nose or chin Spots which look a lot like acne Visible blood vessels on the face Watery and other irritable eye problems

It is also possible to have other symptoms such as a burning or stinging sensation within the face, facial swelling and the skin thickening on the face. The severity of the condition depends upon how much damage will be caused, however, generally the condition is mainly more embarrassing and emotionally scarring rather than physically. If you think that you have any signs of the condition it is always worth getting checked out at the doctors. Usually the condition is identified in a number of stages. These are:

Stage One: People who have the first kind of Rosacea tend to have flushing and persistent redness symptoms. There also may be a few visible blood vessels in the face too. Apart from that there are no other symptoms.

Stage Two: If you are suffering from Stage two you will have persistent redness with some pimples and bumps on the face also.

Stage Three: Stage three includes skin thickening, and usually the nose is often enlarged a little caused by excess tissue.

Stage Four: If the condition is particularly bad, you will notice symptoms such as dry eye, swollen eyelids, tearing and burning and there is a risk of potential vision loss due to cornea damage.

Obviously stage four is the most serious and you should really try and get this condition diagnosed as early as possible to stop the risk of it getting worse.

How to Treat Rosacea: It is hard to prevent Rosacea due to the fact that it is not known what actually causes the condition. As each different person will have a different experience with the condition, the treatment will vary and you will have to first visit a physician in order to get the best treatment advice for you.

Once you have the condition, your skin care routine can help to control it. The routine has to be gentle and it is important to clean the face with a non abrasive and mild cleanser, rinsing well with luke warm water. The most important part of the routine is to remember to blot the face dry with a thick cotton towel. You should never dry your face roughly as this could irritate the condition.

Sunscreen is also advised and the lowest protection factor used should be 15. It is possible to cover up the condition using green tinted foundation or ordinary green makeup, as this will help to counter the redness.

Usually to properly treat the condition, topical and oral medications are often given. Oral antibiotics and Topical therapy are often combined to give the best possible chance of recovery. If the condition is particularly severe, laser treatment and surgery may need to be used.

Overall, Rosacea is extremely common yet practically nothing is known about the condition. So if you do suffer from this condition you are definitely not alone, and it is always best to consult your doctor and get it treated as soon as possible.

Easy Ways To Deal With Acne

You have probably thought to yourself over and over again that you wish acne was not a part of life. It can be a frustrating and difficult part of adolescence, and can spread into adulthood as well.

Acne is never fun, and sometimes it is even the cause of much embarrassment and teasing. You might feel like you are at the end of your rope, and you might be ready and willing to try anything to get rid of it!

Unfortunately, acne is just a part of life. It seems silly, but it is true. Have you ever noticed that some people have great complexions, and some people are burdened with lots of acne, for years? It just so happens that most of acne is in our genetics.

There is simply nothing we can do about whether or not we are going to be prone to having acne. If your parents had clear complexions, you probably will not have too much of a problem. If your parents had lots of acne as teenagers, it might be in your genetics as well.

Whether you have a genetic disposition towards acne or towards a clear complexion, there are many things that you can do to either lessen your chances of having lots of acne or of having more acne. Acne might be mostly controlled by genetics, but there are various things that will make your conditions better or worse, no matter what your personal genetic disposition might be.

First of all, you should be sure to wash your face twice a day. You should use a soap that is made for face washing. Using a regular bar of soap is going to dry your skin, and you will have a better chance of getting acne. You can pick from lots of different kinds of soaps designed for washing faces.

There are facial soaps that you can use for dry skin, or for oily skin, or for normal skin. There are also face soaps that will gently exfoliate your skin. One thing to keep in mind is that there are facial soaps that are made to reduce acne. Some of them are preventative acne reducers, but you can also buy soaps that are made with medicines to help you fight the acne that you already have.

These medicated soaps are something that you should take care in when using, because they might also irritate your skin. You should use them on a small portion of your face first, and if there is no irritation, you can use them normally.

An important factor in reducing acne comes after you have washed your face. The use of a good, gentle, alcohol free toner is a good way to make sure that your pores are clear of dirt and grime, and that your entire face is clean. Use these cooling toners on your face after you have washed it by putting a small amount on a cotton ball and wiping it across your face.

This will help to prevent acne. When you are finished with the toner, you will also want to use a gentle face lotion. Be careful not to use regular body lotion on your face, because regular body lotions might have chemicals or other things added like perfumes or coloring that might cause more acne. A face lotion should be light and gentle, and like the toner, you should use it sparingly at first. A good lotion will keep your face hydrated and smooth and will lesson your chances for acne.

Another important thing that you should always remember about preventing acne is to never sleep with makeup or other things on your face. When you sleep, your sweat and body oils might mix with whatever is on your face and cause acne. You might also press your face against a pillow or blanket and your pores will not be able to breathe. The make up is going to cause you to develop acne. Always remember to wash your face before you go to sleep.

When you are looking to prevent acne, the most important step is to keep your face clean and healthy. That way, even if you have a genetic disposition towards acne, you will be able to do the best job you can in controlling it and hopefully you will be able to pass through this period in your life with ease!

Dealing With Acne

It is a part of life. Acne is something that everyone is going to have to deal with at one point or another in their lives. It usually happens that a person will have to deal with acne during their teenage or pubescent years. It is something that no one looks forward to, but it is something that you most likely will have to deal with no matter what. You can not escape it, so you had better learn how to deal with it.

Even if you cannot escape acne, there are certainly ways that you can deal with it, and ways that you can make it into something that is easier for you to live with.

First of all, even if you are prone to acne, or it is something that you have in your family, you can do things that will influence the severity of your personal acne.

It is something that is based mostly upon your own skin and your skin conditions, however, like anything that might be partially environmentally controlled, there are things that you can do to lessen or increase the severity of your acne.

One of the most important factors would be the way that you care for your skin. If you are washing your face every day, and taking care so that you are using proper substances on your face, you are going to be able to lessen the severity of your own acne.

Acne responds well to keeping your face and body clean, however there are right and wrong ways to go about this. You should use a soap that is designed for cleaning your face. Facial soaps contain ingredients that will not dry out or irritate your skin, while regular soaps meant for your body will dry out your skin and irritate it, causing the potential for more acne, not less.

Using a body wash or other soap on your face is going to cause more harm than good because of the dyes, oils, or perfumes that might be in these types of soaps. Another important step to keeping your face clean is to use a good toner which will clean your pores and keep them free of dirt and sweat.

Clogged pores are a symptom of a face that is not clean, and it is something that will lead to more acne. A good toner will help your skin adjust to being clean and allow you to have a smooth and clean face. The last step to keeping your face healthy is to put a face lotion on after you have washed your face and patted it dry.

A good lotion that is intended for face care can help you fight acne. There are face washes, toners, and face lotions that are meant specifically for acne, and these might have medicines included in them. These are also a good way to keep your face acne free, or to treat acne that you have already had.

Another important factor in making acne easier to live with has to do with your diet. Eating foods that are high in sugar might increase your risk of getting acne. A good healthy and balanced diet will help your face use the natural oils to prevent more acne from appearing.

There are also environmental factors that might hinder the clarity of your face. It is important that you pay attention to the things around you and how they effect your skin. There are certain things in the air that might irritate your face and cause more acne.

Acne is something that you are going to have to live with. However, with a proper diet and good face care, you are going to be able to live much easier with it.

Organic Skin Care: A Modern Spin On An Old Idea

Organic skin care is not as wildly popular as it was a few years ago, but many people are still very interested in the natural benefits organic skin care has to offer. For years people who were interested enough in natural ways to help their skin or make other adjustments to their bodies made their own skin care items. Oatmeal as a facial, cucumber for refreshing skin and helping circles beneath the eyes, or lemon to lighten hair.

The moment cosmetics companies picked up on the value of natural elements, more and more natural ingredients went into skin care and cosmetic products. The sudden increase became in vogue and everyone began to realize the benefits natural skin care could bring. But did you know that using ingredients naturally derived ingredients is not a new idea?

What we really have done is to put a new spin on an old idea. Cultures from the past, such as the Egyptians, have constantly turned to nature for methods of creating cures and treatments for health and skin conditions. The benefit we have over ancient cultures is that of science. Scientists have been able to help prove or disprove the use of certain elements and point out specific properties that some natural components do have. These properties can include natural emulsifiers, emollients, antioxidants, humectants, astringents, and anti irritants.

Even better, scientists are able to realize the full potential of many natural ingredients by combining them with synthesized ingredients. Even the most organic of products is going to have some synthetic ingredients, but these are there to help the skin and produce the best results from the organic ingredients, so they are nothing to be afraid of. This is a good fact to know, as many people who subscribe to organic skin care are not just concerned about looking beautiful.

Organic skin care is about keeping skin healthy and leading a healthier life in the world. Keeping yourself naturally beautiful can feel much more fulfilling than relying solely on synthetics and methods such as chemical peels.

There are various methods used to obtain natural ingredients and add them into products. Botanical extracts are probably the most popular. Many ingredients are used for different reasons and many can be tailored to fit specific skin types.

Honey: Honey is known for its antioxidant powers and also has anti-microbial features. Honey is also used to help skin suffering from sun damage and helping to rejuvenate tired skin by helping it to absorb and preserve moisture. For these reasons honey has been added to skin care treatments and utilized in the skin care world.

Shea Butter. What was once a casual ingredient has now been recognized as a powerful benefit to skin in a multitude of ways. Shea butter can be found in hundreds of different products from lotion to scrubs. Pure shea butter that has not been altered in any way can provide help to people who suffer from eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis. Shea butter also provides a therapeutic effect, helping to calm both you and your skin.

Jojoba. Jojoba is yet another naturally occurring skin care remedy that acts as a natural moisturizer and helps to soften unhappy skin. Jojoba oil is also recommended for people suffering from eczema as a safe and natural way to calm and moisturize skin.

Other ingredients can include: Safflower oil, rose hip oil, aloe vera, beeswax, tea tree oil, witch hazel, sesame oil, avocado oil, and chamomile. You may also find extracts of lemon, cucumber, grape seed, green or black tea, and licorice. Each of these natural ingredients can be mixed with synthesized ingredients to help unlock their potential and provide their individual advantageous properties. The next time you are looking for new skin care products, try looking into organic ways of treating your skin. Past cultures did not have our advances, so now is the time to make the most of organic skin care.

Should Men Still Look After Their Skin?

Looking after your skin is extremely important, even for men. Most men these days like to look after their skin anyway, just as much as woman do!

You can sometimes tell exactly how healthy a person is, simply by looking at their skin. It is not always easy to keep it in tip top condition, especially if you hack your face to pieces with a new razor, keep eating junk, and drink like a fish all the time! Luckily enough though, there are certain things that you can do to look after your skin, even if you are guilty of the above mentioned sins!

How to Shave Properly Without Irritating the Skin

Many men out there try all different methods of shaving. From foams to gels, and simple plain old water, most men have tried them all. If you do experiment a lot with shaving products, you may have already noticed that shaving goes a lot more smoothly when you use an aloe based shaving cream or gel. This is down to the soothing effects that it has on the skin on your face, and on your neck. Not only do aloe vera products sooth the skin however, they also make the razor glide a lot more easily and smoothly, meaning that you do not have to keep going over the same spot over and other again, which generally causes a massive irritation to the skin.

If you are new to shaving or if you just do it any old way, then you should know that you need to shave in the direction of the grain first in small movements, and also keep washing the razor to get rid of any hair and stubble which is caught between the blades. Afterwards try to apply some aftershave balm, or a moisturizer to help soothe the skin, and stay away from any aftershave with alcohol in it, as this will really irritate the skin!

Know Your Skin Type and Treat The Skin to A Facial!

To help look after your skin, you first have to know what type of skin you actually have. There are many products available on the market, but choosing the wrong one could cause the reverse of your expectations.

Getting a facial is not just for women, and by having one every now and again, it will really improve your skin and leave it feeling fresher and healthier. If you are suffering from blackheads, a facial or a cleansing mask can really help to reduce them and even get rid of them completely.

If you are not sure on your skin type, the person giving the facial will be able to analyze the skin, and also what condition it is in. Once you know this, you can have a daily regime which will be suited exactly to your skin type.

Avoid Using Soap

If you use soap on your face regularly, it could actually be causing your skin a lot more problems than it should be. Soap is not the best product to use on the face, as it strips the skin of its natural oils and due to this, it actually produces a lot more oil which can cause the face to become oily. Instead of soap you could try a gentle foaming cleanser which will be a lot more subtle on the skin. If you require something a bit stronger, you could consider using a cleanser, or a spot treatment containing salicylic acid and beta hydroxyl.

What to Do After a Wild Night Out!

So you have been out drinking like a fish, and you have now woken up feeling a little under the weather. Your skin has seen better days and it feels dry, irritable and dull. It is no shock that drinking alcohol sucks all of the moisture out of your skin. The only way to stop your skin from looking so dull is to continue your daily routine of skin care. This should include cleansing, toning and moisturizing.

Another great tip is to use an eye gel mask to relive your eyes and to stop any bags from appearing. So there really are no excuses, look after your skin and in turn it will look after you! Men should take care of their skin just as well as women. There are lots of products available these days for men and so there really are no excuses anymore!

Having Clear Skin - Help For Acne

There is little consolation for people with acne, just knowing that it is just as common in adults as it is in teenagers. It can be a trying experience just being a teenager, let alone having to maintain clear skin for those who already have trouble fitting in at school with low self esteem.

Keeping your skin clear doesn't have to be a trying experience with so many new treatment and products to choose from on the market today. The key to healthy clear skin it to choose a skin care regimen that is right for you and the condition that you have. Below are some helpful tips on what is right and wrong to do for keeping acne under control and keeping your skin clear.

First, let's take a look at the things that you "shouldn't" do while trying to maintain clear skin.

Products that you Shouldn't use:

Acne prone, sensitive skin can be irritated by using such products as: astringents, skin toners, rubbing alcohol, facial masks, and even certain hair care products. You should wash your face using a soft touch, taking care to never rub or even scrub the skin on your face. Make sure not to use hot water for rinsing, always use lukewarm water.

You Shouldn't: Overuse treatments or medications

Although it may seem like a good idea to slather on the creams or cleansers to speed up the process, doing so may actually have the adverse effect. Acne will never clear up magically or overnight, no matter how badly we may want it to. It normally takes a month or so to start seeing results after regular use of acne medication, and may take up to a half a year or more before seeing signs of significant improvement.

You Shouldn't: Excessively clean or wash the face

This is a good rule of thumb where less is more. Make sure to wash your face a few times a day and make sure that you do it gently, as this is essential for keeping your skin clear and healthy. There are many times where people make the mistake of scrubbing or repetitively washing their face in a desperate chance to rid their skin of the oils that are clogging their pores. It is a shame that these methods are far from the truth.

Now let's take a look at the things we should do in order to have clear skin and for keeping those outbreaks of acne and blemishes under control.

You Should always: Make sure that you wear Sunscreen and moisturizer

You should make it a general rule to always wear Sunscreen, not just to avoid acne outbreaks, but for anytime that you are going to be outdoors, no matter what the weather is during anytime of the year. There are harmful rays that the sun produces that cannot only cause premature aging but can also cause you to get skin cancer. Make-up and non-comedogenic moisturizers will not clog up your pores and is generally the top choice to go with for those who suffer from acne.

You Should always abide by the recommended treatments and dosages

There have been many clinical studies and tests that have been tried in the treatment of acne with medications and the dosages that are recommended. If you overuse the medications or overdue the treatments you can actually make it so the medication will not work as it should and you can even cause much unwanted side effects from overuse.

You Should always use care when shampooing or shaving daily

When shampooing oily hair on a daily basis, more important, long hair, you can help to lessen the chances of acne outbreaks that are caused from too much oil around your face. While shaving, you should be sure that the skin is entirely wet with warm water and to use a razor that has a sharp blade, to reduce your chances of getting nicks and cuts. They can lead to skin irritations that you do not need. And, last but not least, NEVER try to shave over the acne itself, in a means to remove it, as this will only irritate the skin worse and make the condition harder to treat.

How Exercising Help You Fight Acne?

Are you haunted with the fear of acne scars all over your face? You have left no stone unturned in getting a treatment done for those ugly looking acne patches? Do not worry. We have come to take all your worries away.

With a burgeoning technology, there have come a number of treatments by which you can prevent and also treat your acne and related problems. Innovative treatments in the form of prescription as well as home-made and natural therapies have come up to cure acne. Besides this, there is a plethora of other preventive measures that boast of clearing your acne.

As a result, people are all the more particular in choosing a treatment for themselves. The type of treatment that has lately gained importance within a large chunk of people is exercising. The best part about it is that, it not only works in the direction of curing your acne problems but it also benefits you in other diseases or disorders that you might be suffering from.

The main propaganda that an exercising regime carries with itself is to keep you in shape and thus reduce acne. You must be wondering what relation our keeping in shape has with the reduction in acne problems. The answer to this is very simple. Exercising helps in reducing the negative energy and the toxins in your body in the form of stress, tension and anxiety. A healthy body is the only way to a beautiful skin.

But not all types of exercises help in giving relief from acne. Therefore, before choosing any particular exercising regime, it is important to first understand the crux of the treatment. Because if you become negligent, your acne condition may aggravate further. So, the rule of the law says that you should practice all indoor exercising, which produces moderate amount of sweat.

Besides this, the other important thing that you need to keep in mind is that the products that you intend to use on your acne afflicted skin should be mild with low levels of chemical substances. This is because, when you exercise, the sweat produced will combine with the chemical agents present in your cosmetics, leading to a more outburst of acne. Therefore, the problem can be solved by using oil-free cosmetic products. Such products even help you to prevent the clogged pores, which are one of the main reasons for acne outbursts.

When you finish with your exercising, take care to washing your face immediately. This prevents in clogging facial pores due to sweat and cosmetics.

Besides, the type of cosmetics that you use, the types of clothes you wear also hold importance. Avoid wearing clothes made of synthetic fibers like nylon and lycra. The reason being, these fibers prevent sweat from evaporating, while you are exercising. And leaves open grounds for the growth and multiplication of bacteria. Therefore, cotton remains the best option at this time, as it is porous in nature. And when you complete your exercising, do not forget to change into fresh dry clothes.

So all you need to do is to follow these simple steps and your acne problem will be solved forever.

Avon Helps Fight The War Against Aging With Anew!

Today's world is fast-paced and demands a lot of the modern woman. There is still just 24 hours in a day to complete all your tasks as a career woman, a mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend, a wife and/or a girlfriend. Sometimes you cannot help but feel that time is indeed just flying and passing you by, and before you know it all the stress and problems and anxiety has slowly made its way to your face, in the form of lines, wrinkles, age spots, discoloration and other things that were not there before, say, about ten to twenty years ago.

Still, the world continues to move, and if you want to keep up with it, your skin will need all the help it can get to get through the day and the years moisturized and poised to look younger than ever before. That is where Avon's line for anti-aging, Anew, comes in. Avon is known worldwide for its beauty products that caters to women and their needs, with their various moisturizers, cleansers, toners and make-up all designed to take care of the skin. But here and now, with the ever growing sun's harmful rays, the increasing pollution and the stress from work and home, Avon has concocted a new line of facial beauty products that will help women all over the world to wage war against aging, and keep their beauty alive, longer.

Avon has unveiled its Anew line, with six variants that targets specific anti-aging needs. There is Anew Essentials, Anew Retroactive, Anew Force Extra, Anew Ultimate, Anew Alternative, and Anew Clinical.

Avon's Anew Essentials is geared towards having younger looking skin, if you do not have any areas which you would like to specifically take care of or focus on.

Anew Retroactive is for those in their mid-twenties, so they can start protecting their skin even before lines and wrinkles get to them.

Anew Force and Extra are for those in their mid-thirties, to soften, lift, smoothen and firm up the skin, and to reduce further aging before the forties set in.

Anew Ultimate is for those in their mid-forties, which will transform the skin into younger looking and feeling skin.

Anew Alternative combines the science and technology available on anti-aging with the healing properties of all natural plants to fight aging.

And lastly, Anew Clinical provides your skin with the care and dedication it will get on a dermatologist's hands, without the dermatologist and using your own hands instead.

The best Avon Anew anti-aging product that I have used so far is the Anew Clinical Micro-Exfoliant, which gently cleans out the pores of the skin and accelerates the skin's renewal process, making the whole process of whitening and revealing the skin's healthier glow so much faster. Also, Anew Retroactive Night Repair Cream is also great; it recharges the skin's cells so that it will prevent premature aging and just be healthy and younger.

Healthy Skin - Naturally

Your busy modern lifestyle leaves you little time for pampering your skin. The result: Your skin isn't the same baby-soft body glove you were born with. As age catches up, your skin gradually becomes thinner and finely wrinkled. Oil-producing (sebaceous) glands become less active, leaving your skin dryer. The number of blood vessels in your skin reduces, your skin becomes fragile, and you lose your youthful sheen and color.

Good skin care will definitely help delay the natural aging process and prevent many skin problems. We list below some vital aspects of skin care, the important factors, what is good and what is not good for your skin. These simple skin-care tips are sure to help you protect your skin to keep it healthy and glowing for years to come.

1. Protect yourself from the sun

The best way to take care of your skin is by protecting it from the sun. Ultraviolet light the invisible but intense rays of the sun can damage your skin and cause deep wrinkles, dry, rough skin, liver spots, and more serious disorders, such as noncancerous and cancerous (malignant) skin tumors.

2. Don't smoke

Smoking accelerates the normal aging process of the skin, contributing to wrinkles. Skin changes as a result of smoking can be seen in young adults who have been smoking for as few as ten years. This is because smoking causes narrowing of the blood vessels in the outermost layers of your skin. This reduces blood flow, depleting the skin of oxygen and nutrients, such as vitamin A, which are important to skin health. Further, the repetitive facial expressions made when smoking such as pursing the lips when inhaling and squinting the eyes to out keep smoke also contribute to wrinkles.

3. Wash your skin gently

Cleansing is an essential part of caring for your skin; the key is to treat your skin gently. As far as possible, use warm water and limit bath time. Hot water and long showers or baths remove oils from your skin. Limit your bath or shower time to around fifteen minutes or less and, here too, use warm, rather than hot, water. Also, avoid strong soaps those most capable of stripping oil from your skin. They leave your skin dry. Choose mild soaps, rather, with oils and fats added to them during the soap manufacturing process. When removing eye makeup, do so carefully, using a soft sponge, cotton cloth or cotton balls to avoid damaging the delicate tissue around your eyes. If you wear heavy, waterproof makeup, you might have to use oil-based products such as petroleum jelly. 4. Moisturize regularly

Moisturizers definitely help maintain your skin's natural moisture levels by providing a seal over your skin to keep water from escaping or by slowly releasing water into your skin. The most suitable moisturizer and the frequency with which you need to moisturize depends on many factors, including your skin type, your age and whether you have specific conditions such as acne. One good way to find out if you need a moisturizer is to wait for twenty minutes after bathing if your skin feels tight, you should apply a moisturizer.

5. Shave carefully

Shaving is a common and cheap way of removing unwanted hair. Then again, shaving can cause skin irritations, especially if your skin is thin, dry or very sensitive. For a smooth shave, press a warm wash cloth on your skin before shaving to soften the hair, or shave after a warm bath or shower. Never shave dry skin; it can cause razor burns. And always apply shaving cream, lotion or gel before shaving to protect and lubricate your skin. Finally, make sure to rinse your skin afterwards with warm water.

Your Guide To Acne Skin Care

Azelaic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Resorcinol, sulphur, and Adapalene are products that approach acne skin care with the intent to reduce clogged pores by peeling or sloughing off dead skins cells. Salicylic Acid is found in over-the-counter acne care products, such as Stridex, as are Resorcinol and sulphur. While most acne skin care treatments in this group target the surface of the skin, Adapalene, a prescription-only medication, reduces the build-up of dead skin cells inside the pore itself. Also a prescription-only skin care product, Azelaic Acid has the added benefit of killing P. acnes bacteria.

It is believed that hormones, diet, stress and vitamin deficiency may play a role in the development of acne. While acne includes both whiteheads and blackheads, there are a variety of types of acne that range in severity. Acne Vulgaris is the most common form of acne and includes everything from whiteheads and black heads to cysts. Acne Vulgaris may be either mild or moderate as well as severe. The mild and moderate forms of Acne Vulgaris include common pimples with inflammation apparent below the surface of the skin as well as blackheads. Small red bumps that have no head may also be present and are known as papules.

Alpha Hydroxy Acids work best for all types of skin, as a mild or strong cleanser, and for healing and preventing acne. AHAs are natural acids which come from fruits, milk sugars, and plants. Glycolic and lactic acids are the most frequently used in over the counter acne treatment products, and are the most well researched AHAs to date. AHAs gently peel away the uppermost layer of dead skin cells. They make way for the newer skin beneath. Look for a product with a glycolic acid concentration between 8% and 10% and no other active ingredients. Side effects include more susceptibility to sunlight and minor skin irritation or blisters and burns. Few AHA products have FDA approval.

There are a few choices available to treat moderate acne scarring. The most popular are dermabrasion and laser resurfacing. Dermabrasion is a scar treatment in which a diamond plated wheel is used to "sand" your face. This technique has been around for a long time and sandpaper was once used instead of the new machines that utilize the diamond plated tool. Generally, this procedure takes around an hour to perform. You should expect some scabbing and redness for a few weeks. This method is most effective for individual with very pale or very dark complexions.

For most mild to moderate forms of acne, daily use of a good skin cleanser is enough to control the outbreaks. However, there are many forms of the disease that will require a more serious acne treatment for effective results. Acne on the back, sometimes called 'bacne', is often resistant to normal cleansers for instance. Bacne often requires additional cleansers that are too harsh to be used on facial areas, but work well on the back because the skin is much tougher there. Glycolic acid is one such cleanser that can be effective for acne on the back, upper arms, or legs, but is not recommended for the neck or face.

Some acne myths include "you'll outgrow it, so leave it alone", "being out in the sun helps acne", "acne problems are directly or indirectly proportionate to sexual activity", "acne visits dirty people", "acne is contagious", and too many more to list in this short article. The sad thing is that belief in the myths can be devastating, in that proper treatment is avoided, and lifestyle changes that don't need to be made can take away pleasure unnecessarily.

Change your makeup style!

Let's face it, after a while of looking exactly the same way- you need a change! Every season the hot looks change anyway. This means you should change with the seasons!

Now we aren't talking about going and getting a whole new wardrobe, who's got the time OR money for that? I know I don't!

The best way to change your look is simple: YOUR MAKEUP! Here are some tips and trick's I've learned through the years.

1) Trying something new: If you have always worn the same colors, it would be your best bet to try some new colors. You might be surprised at what looks good on you and your skintone. You can try without buying by going to cosmetic stores and having them sample their makeup on you. I have found that other people pick out colors that compliment you better than yourself sometimes! This just proves the whole "you are your hardest critic" thing!

2) The overall look: This is the main "look" you are going for. Ask yourself, overall, what do I want to look like? For example- Maybe you are getting ready for a halloween party and you need to look like Cleopatra. This look would need to be simple, but sexy. We all know that Cleopatra had that amazing cateye eyeliner going on, which is such an easy thing to do!You want to make sure that once you are finished applying the makeup, that it all blends together well to complete this look. (For help with your overall look, check out this kit: The Collection)

3) Color: The easiest way to brighten(or not brighten) the overall look is by the use of color. You can play it safe with natural colors close to your skintone for a "less is more" look, or you could go for a sexy siren look with red lipstick and dark eyeshadow. Any of you could pull these looks off, as long as you know what looks good on YOU.

4) Foundation: This is very important to the overall look with your makeup. As we age, the skin gets spots and uneven tones. This can be taken care of with foundation. The key step to applying foundation and not looking "cakey" is EXFOLIATION, and MOISTURIZATION. You want to make sure that before applying foundation or any other makeup, that you exfoliate using a gentle face scrub, and follow-up with moisturizer. Then it is time to apply the foundation. It is best to apply in the most natural light setting as possible. Because of the harshness of flourescent lights, you may apply too much than actually needed. So if possible, get a soft natural light where you apply your makeup, or even get a mirror and apply near a window. This makes a HUGE difference on the outcome of your overall look.(For an excellent concealer/foundation, check this out: Tone Correcting Concealer - Tone 1)

5) Mascara: If you do nothing more than apply a good mascara, you can look AMAZING. This is one of the most important steps above anything else when applying makeup. If you want to feel pretty and girly, this is the one thing that will do it! Your eyelashes really frame the eyes, and with definition of your eyelashes, it really opens your eye area and brightens your face and look. Try this product for help with the eyes: Expert Eyes Kit)

6) Lip Gloss: Finding a good lipgloss can be your savior in those "I have no time for makeup" days. With a dab of gloss and a stroke or two of mascara, you can be looking and feeling like the prettiest woman around!(This is an amazing lip gloss I've found, for only $1!!:Hypershine Gloss - Joy)

7) It's not always girls who need to change: Men are not exactly ones to care too much about their looks, generally. Yes there are some out there who care MORE than girls, but that's a different day! Most men get into a rut just like women of what to do with their hair, skin, and other problems related to looking nice. Men just need a few easy tips! If you are, or know a man looking to spice up or change his looks, check out this great website:Click Here!

Get Control of Your Acne

One treatment - Accutane, may cause severe birth defects and Depression, which has led the FDA to strengthen restrictions on its use. These new restrictions require manufacturers of Accutane and its generic versions to keep track of the doctors who prescribe the drug, and also the pharmacies that sell the drug and the patients who use it.

Laser treatments are a recently approved form of treating severe acne and curing pimples should give you more confidence in the safety and success of the procedure. The laser device emits a smooth laser beam that focuses on the affected areas - one of the best methods for acne blemish laser treatment. It emits pulsating heat below the skin's surface and diminishes the size of the sebaceous glands, which are responsible for acne. Patients of acne blemish laser treatment use creams to numb the area where the laser will be applied, so the process is virtually painless.

Acne skin care products performance can greatly depend on how an individual's skin type reacts to it. It must conform to the skin's characteristics, which may include skin sensitivity, tone, ethnicity and gender. There are many acne skin care products in the market with different active ingredients and solutions for different skin types. Acne prone skin can be very sensitive to different chemicals and must be very careful in using different products. There are different tips and techniques for mild to severe cases of acnes. Some acne skin care products may not work for some people in helping them improve the look and condition of their skin.

Since many people think that the only people who are constantly plagued by acne are teenagers, the thought of acne has been closely coupled with adolescence. When a professional businessman or woman enters a room and is suffering from acne, he or she is looked upon as unprofessional, and all those traits that are normally associated with adolescence.

Lifestyle and environmental factors contribute significantly to the emergence of adult acne. A diet that is poor in the necessary vitamins and minerals can wreak havoc on how the body's organs function. The skin, being the largest organ in the body, needs nutrients in order to work effectively. If the skin is unable to metabolize or secrete the waste products that it needs to because of poor nutrition, acne can result. Habits such as smoking and drinking can also affect the skin's condition and its resistance to diseases like adult acne.

One big problem is that some people do not understand the acne problem for the mere reason that they never suffered from it, obviously this creates a terrible situation where the teen is not only ridiculed for the acne he suffers from, he gets this from others that very clearly do not have the problem. In more recent years, however, the problems faced by those who suffer from acne are being more widely addressed, and the social and psychological effects being studied more closely.

Finally, Baby Skin Care Products Safe for Baby!

It's sad to say, but a skincare product can have less than 1% natural ingredients and still put NATURAL on the label! It can even have just ONE ingredient that is natural and still use NATURAL on the label! More and more parents are beginning to look for products for their children and their families that are "Natural," free of unhealthy and dangerous chemicals and additives. But just how "natural" are those products really?

Nature's Baby Products began when Adena Surabian's baby daughter developed a rash that no doctor could cure. Unfortunately, she experienced first hand what happens to a baby when baby products contain untested chemicals, irritating ingredients and even toxins. Both of her daughters suffered from allergies, rashes, eczema or skin irritations caused or worsened by the chemicals in many child and baby products. Armed only with an armful of suspicious products and a computer, Adena discovered both the cause of her baby's rash and how dangerous baby products really can be. She found the only "cure" was the elimination of many of the products she, like most mothers, assumed were safe.

When she searched for products that were gentle, effective and safe, she was discouraged by what she found. No products that were safe left her babies' skin soft. Shampoos that didn't contain harmful chemicals left their hair coarse and filled with static electricity. Chemical-free diaper creams didn't really prevent rashes. In this case, necessity really was the "mother" of invention. And so Nature's Baby Products was born. Adena developed an entire product line of gentle, effective and safe skin and hair care products for her babies - and for yours.
Many of the chemicals you find in baby products give color, fragrance and a certain "feel" to the product. Some are preservatives; others are enhancers that help the product penetrate the skin. However, most haven't been tested for safety, haven't been evaluated for long-term exposure and many are used in products like degreasers and anti-freeze.

Over the last 50 years, the number of synthetic ingredients and petroleum-based products in our lotions and potions has increased by leaps and bounds. Unfortunately, no one knows how safe they are and what their long term effects will be on our bodies - or even on the environment. While these ingredients are cheaper and easier to use in manufacturing, they are potentially more dangerous.

The ingredients used by Nature's Baby Products are safer but more expensive because they use only the purest forms, from the most reliable suppliers. The ingredients they select are 100% botanical, most with a long history of safe and effective use. Other products use chemical preservatives so bottles of shampoo, conditioner and lotion can sit on the shelf for an indefinite period of time. Nature's Baby Products won't put those kinds of chemicals on a baby's skin or hair. Instead, they use advances in packaging and botanically based preservatives that are food-grade or so safe you could eat them.

With all the different products you put on your child's skin every day, shouldn't they all be safe? On any given day, you might shampoo her hair, wash her body, moisturize her skin, protect her with sunscreen, and heal her bottom with diaper cream. In one 24-hour period, you could apply an extraordinary chemical brew of dangerous ingredients to your child. ON AVERAGE, people apply 126 unique ingredients to their skin EVERY DAY. How safe are they? Who knows? The government doesn't require health studies before products are sold. Nor does it require pre-market testing. So no one is watching out for you and your baby.

Just what kind of ingredients are in the shampoos, conditioners, soaps, body washes, cosmetics, etc that we use? A not-for-profit organization called the Environmental Working Group (EWG) has spent the last five years researching that industry for safety. Here is what they found:
--Industrial chemicals are basic ingredients in personal care products. The 10,500 unique chemical ingredients in these products equate to about one of every seven of the 75,000 chemicals registered for use in the U.S. Personal care products contain carcinogens, pesticides, reproductive toxins, endocrine disruptors, plasticizers, degreasers, and surfactants. They are the chemical industry in a bottle.

--No premarket safety testing is required -- this is a reality of both the personal care product industry and the broader chemical industry as a whole. For industrial chemicals, the government approves an average of seven new chemicals every day. Eighty percent are approved in three weeks or less, with or without safety tests. Advocating that industry have an understanding of product safety before selling to the public finds common messages, common methods, and common gains whether the focus is cosmetic ingredients or other industrial chemicals.

Everyone uses personal care products. Exposures are widespread, and for some people, extensive. A 2004 product use survey shows that more than a quarter of all women and one of every 100 men use at least 15 products daily. These exposures add up, and raise questions about the potential health risks from the myriad of unassessed ingredients migrating into the bodies of nearly every American, day after day.

This EWG report goes on to say:
--Eighty-nine (89) percent of the 10,500 ingredients FDA has determined are used in personal care products have not been evaluated for safety by the CIR, the FDA, or any other publicly accountable institution.

Even more frightening, they found that these ingredients that we use on ourselves and our children are not only unsafe, some are downright dangerous.
--More than one-third of all personal care products contains at least one ingredient linked to cancer.
--57 percent of all products contain "penetration enhancer" chemicals that can drive other ingredients faster and deeper into the skin to the blood vessels below.
--79 percent of all products contain ingredients that may contain harmful impurities like known human carcinogens, according to FDA or industry reviews. Impurities are legal and unrestricted for the personal care product industry.

Cosmetic ingredients do not sit tight of the surface of the skin -- they are designed to penetrate, and they do. Scientists have found many common cosmetic ingredient in human tissues, including industrial plasticizers called phthalates in urine, preservatives called parabens in breast tumor tissue, and persistent fragrance components like musk xylene in human fat. Do the levels at which they are found pose risks? For the most part, studies have not been done. But a recent study showing feminization of human male babies in the U.S. linked to a common fragrance component (diethyl phthalate) joins a small but growing number of studies that serve as scientific red flags when it comes to the safety of ingredients in personal care products.

Although to date, breast implants is the most effective breast enlargement method, doctors are still unsure about their long-term side effects. Most, if not all of these non-surgical breast enlargement methods are likely to give only flat results. They may seem genuine, providing testimonials from "real people" as well as giving 30 to 90 days money back guarantees, but it is worth remembering, that beauty products - unlike prescription drugs are not regulated and do not need government approval or testing before they are marketed.
Many females including myself, who want breast enlargement but fear the scalpel, so we try out many pills, lotions, creams and devices advertised as breast enhancer instead.
Being insecure about our bodies, we tend to be impulsive let our emotion get ahead of our reasoning capabilities.

Let's Consider The Various Breast Enlargement Methods And Their Claims.

Firstly, Breast Enlargement Exercises.
Since the breasts are composed mainly of mammary glands and fat, no amount of exercise will change their actual size or shape. At best, like some devices - it may help to develop the underlying muscles (known as pectoralis) that support the breasts. When these muscles are larger and firmer, they push the breasts outwards, giving the illusion of larger breasts.
What About Various Miracle Breast Enlargement Pills Or Supplements Or Creams?
They are generally herbal in origin - containing different quantities of harmless "plant-estrogen" that are found in some 300 plants like, dong quai, soybean, oat bran, fenugreek, wild yam, saw palmetto and so on.

Being herbal, they are also being promoted as natural and safe.
Yet, one was recently withdrawn from market, when its makers were first sued in the United States, as it contains Kava, a south pacific herb, as one of its critical ingredients - before Kava's is being known to potentially cause fatty liver. This is a classic example, why we should always insist that all the products we use or consume are tested and proven through long-term studies and research.

Is There Any Possible Solution To Natural Breast Enlargement?
Before you lose all hope, there is one herb - which belongs to the family guminosae, subfamily Papilionoideae or the soy, bean & pea subfamily, known as Pueraria Mirifica or Kwao Kreu" or "Kwao Kreu Kao" (white Kwao Kao), which are commonly found in the north, the west and the northeast of Thailand at the altitude of 300 to 800 metres above sea level.
Women in the rural communities of Thailand have used this tuberous root effectively as rejuvenating folk medicine for well over a hundreds years before it became well known and received much attention from Thai and foreign scientists, especially the Japanese.
Most of the kwao kreu processed by the Japanese are made into medicines and cosmetics commonly used for improving the skin, hair and firming the breasts.

In 1940, in a protected biotechnology laboratory, a group of German scientist successfully isolated the phytoestrogen - Miroestrol from the root of Pueraria Mirifica. But, this herb is mistakenly reported then as Butea Superba. It was later on classified as a new plant called Pueraria Mirifica. After another 60 years, in year 2000, another phytoestrogen - deoxymiroestrol is isolated from the root of Pueraria Mirifica.

What Makes Pueraria Mirifica The Best Phytoestrogen?
"Miroestrol and Deoxymiroestrol " is very different from other phytoestrogen, as it posses highest estrogenic activity among the known phyto-estrogens due to structural similarity to estradiol, (Estradiol is the main human estrogen which can be found in all women who are at the stage of nursing baby (Lactating); as you may notice that all women who are in this stage, their breasts will enlarge and gain firmness for feeding purpose.
Miroestrol and Deoxymiroestrol Can Only Be Found In Pueraria Mirifica!
But not every Pueraria Mirifica are created equal, they vary from species to species and under different growing conditions.

There are more than 13 species of Pueraria Mirifica and most of them are called "Pueraria Mirifica" or "Kwao Krua Kao" but this doesn't mean that they are the same, they may look same in the appearance but they produce different results.
The only way to differentiate their difference is to measure the amount of Miroestrol and Deoxymiroestrol contain inside the roots of Pueraria Mirifica. An elaborate and expensive test need to be carry out in specialized laboratory to certify the actual amount of Miroestrol and Deoxymiroestrol found in any specific type of Pueraria Mirifica. And not many company would sent their Pueraria Mirifica for such stringent test.

Majority of the Pueraria Mirifica products found in the market are made from roots collected from villagers in the forests. And these villagers will be the ones that do the peeling, grinding, and the drying in their homes. Nobody can assure the sanitation, the quality and the amount of Miroestrol found in these Pueraria Mirifica powder.
Many foreign companies which have long settled in Thailand even open small shops to purchase the plant from villagers. If such practices does not stop, it would soon result in extinction of the plant because villagers would think of nothing but making money.

Natural Hair Care Products - Beginners Guide

The effectiveness of modern, natural hair care products is known to all, because they are very effective in reducing hair loss and enhancing hair beauty. They are also perceived as being free from side effects and may deliver additional health benefits.
Balanced diets rich in vitamins and minerals are a must for hair health. In this regard, natural products are receiving increased recognition after years of neglect. {a href= http://www.haircareinformation.com/hair-care-products/natural-hair-care-products.php }

Natural hair care products have become popular for both external and internal use. Besides, they have less chance of causing over-treatment and they rarely over-dry or over-condition your hair.
Using the right hair care and beauty products is essential for the look and health of your hair. But, the problem with natural hair care products is that you may find it difficult to choose one that is appropriate for you and your hair. Most of the products available in the market today, bear a "Natural" label, whether genuine or fake making it harder to find a good natural hair care product.
Four types of products make a medley of hair care items. The four basic natural hair care products are: hair cleansing products, hair conditioners, {a href= http://www.haircareinformation.com/hair-loss/herbal-hair-growth-remedies.php }hair remedies and hair nutrition products.

What Are Natural Hair Care Products?

Not all natural hair care products all natural. Products available in salons and over store counters are never 100% natural, because, for better results and preservation issues, they need to contain a certain amount of synthetic ingredients. The synthetic products can also provide better foaming, cleaning and emulsifying than 100% natural products. However, you can prepare some home made hair care products that are absolutely natural.

You might have come across some organic hair growth products and equaled that with natural hair growth products. However, they are different. Organic does not mean natural. You can prepare organic products synthetically and those products are not always safe, gentle and effective.

Hypnosis - 6 Powerful Techniques to Lose Weight for a Slim and Beautiful YOU

By the end of this article, you will amaze yourself, as you will be aware of the hypnotic techniques that can help you drop out the extra calories that once stole the charm of your life and your beauty.

As a practitioner of Hypnosis I got various patients who were suffering with the problem of obesity. Many among them were the young girls. They came to me distressed and upset of their life and when they left, they were having a new and a positive attitude towards life. Such is the power of hypnosis. Two prominent causes that were making them worried and disturbed were

(a). They cannot wear clothes, which they want to because of their over-weight and
(b). The second cause was more severe than this; they were upset because the boys will not look at them. The boys call them aunty.

The hypnosis knows how severe this problem is. In this modern world, you have to maintain yourself so that you do not look outdated. The simple self-hypnotic techniques can make you gain the shape of your body, as you have always desired.

How hypnosis can help, you lose weight. It can do so because it orders your subconscious mind to make sufficient changes for your benefit. Hypnosis makes it possible. Here goes the 5 secret hypnotic techniques to lose weight:

1. Do not go for dieting: This is one of the basic and important secrets of hypnosis. People usually follow the short-cut method to lose weight i.e., dieting. However, it hardly works. The more you will deprive yourself of the food, the more you will generate curiosity towards it, as it is the tendency of man. Man has the habit the things, which he is told not to do. Thus, if you decide not to eat your mind thinks more of food. Eat less instead of dieting - this is the basic concept in hypnosis to loose weight.

2. Think less of food: This is another hypnotic technique, which works wonders. Experts say that people not only eat when they are hungry but also when they are alone, upset or stressed. This are the things that hypnosis reveals you. They seek eating as a relief from their problems or tensions. So, in hypnosis you are advised not to think of food often. You have to keep yourself busy when you feel alone. Involve yourself in any task so that you can avoid the thought of food at least for some time this is secret hypnosis.

Free Beauty Secrets - Easy Tips on How to Get a Glamorous Party Look in No Time

Here are some free beauty secrets that I hope will give you some inspiration to try something new and fresh!

Silver and gold
For a true party make-up, after applying eyeshadow - use an eyeshadow stick, silver or gold colored, in the inner corner of the eye. It opens up and highlights your eye in a way that will make you look truly glamorous!

Glittering nails
Ever tried double layers of nail polish? This will look best if you start with a distinct color as a base, for example dark red, dark blue or purple. When the base layer is dry, add a more transparent, brighter color with glitter flakes on top of the first layer. It will look really cool and it will also strengthen the base polish and make it last longer. A perfect way to make your nails stand out and catch other people's eyes even if they're not very long!

Shimmering eyes
Instead of using an eyeliner, take a dark, glittering eyeshadow (midnight blue for example) and draw a thin line with a thin eyeliner brush just above the upper eyelashes. The line should be a little thicker than the usual eyeliner stroke, but not much. It will give your eyes that special party lustre!

Highlights
Most women know how to apply shadows to the face but very few think about highlights. Something that can be just as important. So get yourself a good highlighter! It can really make wonders and still look very natural. Apply a very small amount on your cheekbones, between your eyes and on the sides of your nosebone. That way your cheekbones will look higher and your eyes will look as if they're wider apart. You can also use some highlighter right above the lipliner on your upper lip. It will make your upper lip look fuller and more accentuated. Don't use too much. You don't want your face to shine.

Tube tops and straps
Tube tops are, at least in my opinion, one of the best garments out there if you want to look glamorous and dressed for a party. There's only one problem though - the bra. Using a regular bra won't work because the straps will take away the whole point behind the tube top. A bra without straps can make you nervous and you often feel uncomfortable. There's nothing that can ruin the impression like the pulling and constantly checking of clothes. You have to look comfortable to look good! So I always recommend transparent straps, also known as clear straps. Just replace the straps in your bra with these. They are almost invisible and you can wear your regular bra and be as comfortable as always!

Celebrity Beauty Secrets and Tips Revealed

A lot of celebrities consider beauty as 'not just skin deep', and hence concentrate a lot on health care and grooming. With useful advices as natural and homemade beauty tips on skin, hair care and on other health related issues, this happens to be the most helpful aspect of celebrity worship. Although most of the beauty secrets shared by the stars are no different from the natural beauty tips one has grown up with, youngsters pay heed to these time tested beauty secrets only when it comes in the form of a celebrity beauty tip.

Celebrities can enjoy huge fan followings, especially when it comes to beauty and style matters. Being a style-icon a celebrity is imitated by his admirers once he builds an image. Budget celebrity beauty tips, whether it be about skin care, acne prevention, hair styling, reducing body weight or any other issue related to improving looks has always been cherished by the admirers. Adjudged from this angle, the best celebrity beauty tip of the present age seems to be being ones own self.

The perfect combination of homemade beauty tips with occasional TCA peels seems the right answer when it comes to stopping the onslaught of professional stress and makeup. The fast-action TCA ( Trichloroacetic Acid ) skin peels cause acne, pigmentations, scars and wrinkles to vanish in matter of moments and is perfectly safe. With the effects of the chemical skin exfoliation lasting for 6 months to a year, application by medical practitioners is recommended. The wide acceptance of TCA peels in the medical community has made it much more than just a celebrity beauty tip.

Inspired by the doctrine that beauty comes in all sizes, shapes and colors and is more about self-expression than mere imitation of someone else's style, modern fans go for personal styling. A few generations back an individual would be content with just getting an Elvis Presley hair cut or a Marilyn Monroe makeup even if that gave a more or less dumb look. A present generation Tom Cruise admirer instead customizes the star's hairstyle to best suit his personality. Similarly, a woman obsessed with Julia Roberts may not opt for a curly crop, but rather sport her hair straight, a la Brooke Shield's style.

The same celebrity beauty tip holds for make up and attires. Considering the camera glares and flashes they are exposed to, it is very fitting that a beauty pageant winner or a celebrity will settle on heavy makeup and some out of the ordinary clothing. However, when adopted in everyday lives, the too gorgeous, overtly glamorous looks will best be termed 'blunders' on the fashion-front. No wonder that young women go for a lot of scaling down and opt for the 'girl next door' look rather than the 'Diva' look.

Exclusive Secrets To Bigger, Poutier Lips!

Full lips never seem to go out of style. Even in the eighties, when full lips were not necessarily all the rage, we saw Hollywood beauties like Kim Basinger and Kelly LeBrock as the epitome of female beauty, and guess what, they both had those enviable "pillow lips" that women pay money to achieve in a doctor's office today. We can all probably think of a few Hollywood women today who have had these lip augmentation procedures done and come out looking less than enviable. Not only that, it's usually obvious when a person has had lip injections or lip augmentation surgery, and it tends to take away from the natural symmetry and beauty of a woman's face, rather than add to it, which is the obvious goal.

However, these types of lip filling procedures really haven't been perfected yet, in my opinion, and many times what women come out with are what those in the beauty industry like to call "fish lips". Basically, too much collagen or too much of many other fillers on the market today will make the upper lip curve up, and look unnatural, created a look that's more like a clown, than feminine and delicate as is it's intended purpose.

But what if you were not born with pouty, full lips, and you feel like you were given the short end of the stick when it comes to this particular beauty asset? Sure, you could go to a plastic surgeon and have your lips injected with any number of available fillers like collagen, hyaluronic acid, restylene, and even a newer filler that is derived from cadaver tissue. There is also a newer option of permanent lip augmentation, where a small implant is put into the lips. This procedure is even further from being perfected than lip injectables, and often comes out looking very unnatural. Women complain the implants also do not feel "real", and there are also complaints that the implants feel "hard", by the patients, and by their partners.

So, what are your natural options to make your lips naturally fuller, without touching them with needles or scalpels? Well, thanks to modern day lip plumping technology, as well a few good old fashioned (and free) techniques, you can achieve fuller lips for little cost, and end up with something that looks natural, and fits your face much better. I've listed these techniques and tips below.

1.) First of all the great beauty secrets, a great lip plumper is a must. I would not recommend those lip plumpers which contain harsh, drying ingredients like cinnamon, as my experience with these has only been temporary fullness, with dryness that inevitably follows. Hydration is key to keeping plump lips, so drying them out only defeats the purpose.

2.) Drink lots of water to keep the skin and lips well hydrated. This keeps you internally hydrated. Ever notice how when you're dehydrated (thirsty), your lips tend to "shrivel"?

3.) When applying your lip plumper, open your mouth as wide as you possibly can. This allows the plumping agents to get deep in the crevices and cracks and helps to fill out the lip tissue even more.

I especially like to use this technique at night when I apply a generous layers of lip plumping conditioner, so that I wake up with plumper lips. If you want, you can even use your hands to "stretch" your lips out wider, so you can get deeper penetration. This should also reduce any need or desire to have an injection of Botox.

4.) Lip pumps are available, but these are kind of an awkward device, although they do produce dramatic lip plumping for up to a few hours after use. Word to the wise on lip pumps : Do not get overzealous with them, as you will most assuredly end up with bruised lips or blood blisters.
Start out very slow with these if you choose to use one. The way they work is they draw fluid into the lips by actually forcing it into this localized area through a suction mechanism. Rumor has it, these nifty little devices are used on some photoshoots on models to create an instantly plumper pout.

How To Give Yourself A Complete Beauty Makeover

You`ve decided to go ahead with the makeover but don`t know where to start? You`ll want to begin by giving yourself the all-points beauty and skin-care treatment. That means exfoliation, masking, hot-oil or deep treating hair, a hydrating treatment like an oatmeal or mud bath, a pedicure and manicure to clean up those neglected nails, and attending to all the other little details that will make your makeover complete. From head to toe, be sure you include everything. Get or give yourself a thorough pedicure, attend to hair removal where necessary through waxing or plucking, trim dead ends if your makeover isn`t going to involve a new hair style, and even consider whitening those teeth.

So now your all prepped and ready for the new look but what do you do now? Well, a makeover isn`t` a makeover without change, and change can be intimidating and scary. The trick is to find a level of change that is dramatic enough to be noticeable, and maybe even naturally a little bit uncomfortable, but yet not so drastic that it leaves you in regret.

We all know at least one women who we look at think just how beautiful she is, if only she could learn how to polish herself up a bit. That woman may even be us when we look in the mirror. Or perhaps we just suddenly find ourselves in want or need of a change. Maybe you`ve had the same beauty routine for twenty years, your haircut is from 1985, or your wardrobe is from the seventies - and not on purpose. You know who you are - we`ll give you some tips for dressing yourself up a bit, getting some much needed change, overhauling the wardrobe, and looking like you just came from the hottest makeover show.

Let`s start with the hair. How about a new style? If your locks are all one length consider adding in some quick and easy layers. If your look is straight and narrow, how about a body wave? Again, the idea here is moderate change. Next, consider some lowlights or highlights. If you`re a brunette, why not give your color a lift by one level and if you`re a natural blonde, consider some lowlights of brown or ash-blonde. Talk with your stylist about some new ideas.
